I am angry amd sympathize. This season has been a disaster outside of Aguilar. I am still not ready to give up on the coaching staff. They definitely need to make adjustments for 2026 but let's see what they do first. Recruiting is going very well.
I agree, it is some that have issue in their own life and it is a good outlet for them IMO. Gives them a forum to let off some steam and forget about their fate in life. I say let them emote it is good therapy.
I am not ready to give up, but I am really starting to doubt Huepel's ability to make critical decisions. Both in game and the day to day running of the program.I am angry amd sympathize. Well they didn't. The line was 3 1/2 for a reason.. It was a toss up game and all the things we've witnessed all year happened again. Probably not their last loss of the year either..What made the loss worse was the fact that everyone showed up, including Oklahoma, except for Heupel and his team. You have to win that game.
I agree. I think what compounds the problem is that if we lose to Florida and Vanderbilt that would be losses to UGA, AL, OK, FLA, and Vanderbilt- 3 of which would have been home games, with a relatively weak schedule. No big wins this season. To be followed by a tougher schedule with an unproven QB for next season. Heupel needed to win this season and he’s got no meaningful wins thus far. This fanbase won’t be singing his praises come this time next season. That’s my highly fallible prediction.Well they didn't. The line was 3 1/2 for a reason.. Well that's the world of college football. It's a what have you done for me lately deal. Yes. Tougher schedule, new QB. Next year is likely to be another struggle.at times. Unless he brings in another transfer QB then who knows..I agree. There’s power in the tongue. His speech about “It doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s not gonna be perfect” to me is sending a message to the team of “hey let’s just go play and hope for the best”. Of course nobody is perfect, but you wanna coach your team to be as nearly as perfect as possible. This “just win” is biting us in the a**, we have to get our fundamentals in check.Heupel has done wonders for this program. Anyone wanting seriously to run him off needs their heads checked.
However - year 5 and it’s completely fair and reasonable to be concerned with some of the issues that seem to occur frequently. Sloppy play, team doesn’t seem to get up for big games, lack of discipline, questionable clock management, and the depth chart being a cliff after the first team. I think it’s time that Heupel looks at his staff and makes some serious changes.
Of course they do, but they should not. Some on here sound that way.
Unfortunately, CJH has collapsed on the largest national TV audiences 3 times in the past year. OSU, GA and now OK. It's fine to not give up on Heup, but you better get used to more mediocrity. And please, it is not all about the players and their execution. Great coaches take good teams to great heights, but that ain't happening in Knoxville anytime soon.
