There is absolutely zero chance he shines at Wash St. Now im exaggerating a bit but honestly I would bet less than 10%. He's terrible at reading his progressions and his accuracy is below average at best. Hope the man nothing but success in life but it's not going to be in football.Won't be surprised if he shines out there. Much smaller stage plus we do seem to see our cast offs somehow turn things around and become successful once they leave Knoxville. I'd also place some money on JT putting up some big numbers at his new school.
You might not want to read this. Sounds like another JG story.. Good in practice, but horrible in games...

I'm just glad he's gone. Was the longest tenured QB in history. I think CBJ nrought him in as "The Manchurian Quarterback" to destroy the team. He was not an SEC QB, we all know that. Pressure on game day was too much. But, he played thru a lot of pain. Remember the broken arm! I'll give him credit that year. He took a lot of hits. He was the most ridiculous passer I have ever seen, and I've been going to games for a very long time. Now- he's not in the SEC, not the same pressure, he may play wonderful. If he does-Congratulations to him!
Wow. Delusion is strong with WSU.
Haven't read the whole thread and others may have mentioned - but the left side of the line was dominating when JG decided to go rogue and attempt his QB sneak against Bama resulting in one of the most embarrassing, stupidest plays I've seen in 50 years of watching, and a 14-point swing. He specialized in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory because he just didn't have it, just wasn't clutch. Hope he has a good year, but it would definitely be against form and an aberration.
The VNers hanging on everything JG does at WSU are like the losers FB stalking ex girlfriends hoping they aren’t happy with the new boyfriend.
He’s gone. Won’t be throwing picks for TN anymore. Wish him luck but really don’t care what he is going anywhere else.
I agree, It's like checking out your old girlfriend that you really never liked that much but is curious as to how she'll be with another guy...Just let JG go and be JG...WSU fans will soon find out what we already know...But I honestly do wish him the very best and hope he has a good season out there.Hope he tears it up, but honestly we need to let him go folks. Lol. It didn't work out here at all. The end. He doesn't need to be brought up every day
So i went to the WSU board to see what comments might be made about JG......here is the most interesting one..
"Guarantano had his issues at UT, however this will be the best offensive line he has ever played behind, and the offense weapons are better than anything he has had before. Sounds like he has something to prove, so if he just plays within himself and the system, he could have his best year ever, if he does, I don't expect the 2nd coming of Minshew, but if he plays well the Cougs have a great year, if he doesn't, well we have 2 other viable options."
another one....
"We do havr someone thats more then capable of getting them the ball and his name is Guarantano.
He did very well getting Tenessee WR's the ball, so much so, that he made the Top 10 statistical passers in Tenessee history list, and had pretty good company with the likes of Peyton Manning, also on that list.
His ability to get WR's the ball wasnt the issue. His issue was crap OL, crap defense, crap coaching, different systems, about 3,4,5,6 different coaches, in his time there, that made him inconsistent.
He shouldnt have those Problems a WSU.
He has NFL Quality WR's in Travell Harris, Calvin Jackson,Moore
He has a NFL RB
He has a NFL O Line and a 1st Round Draft pick OL in Abe Lucas.
And a better coach, and better system.
And he has experience.
If he can stay healthy, not get injured, like how he got injured, and thus only got 1 snap in the Spring game, he will be just fine.
Also in Spring Ball, in his first scrimmage, he went perfect, about 8 for 8, all completions, no incompletions. Led a drive for a TD, threw about a 23 to 33 yard TD pass, about 113 yards, NO INT's.
He has got the arm, can make all the throws.
He 'll do just fine, assuming JDL doesnt stupidly start again.
Guarantano is the favorite to start, its his job to lose."
Players you’re most excited to see this year
Doubt their Offensive line is better than Tennessee at any time in JGs career here. But on the flip side he will never face defensive lines from any opponent like he faced here in the SEC.Don't know anything about WSU's o-line, but I'm going to assume it's definitely not better than an OL that included Trey Smith, Brandon Kennedy, and Cade Mays on it.
Even though Wash State plays in a weak division, I'd still bet on them being one of the weaker teams in it this year. 3-9 or 4-8 is not out of the question.
I'm honestly rooting for JG there, but I don't see any evidence that it's a good team.
Yep. Throwing to wide open defensive backs has nothing to do with coaching. Maybe wr made wrong route but you have to be able the majority of time to do something else with the ball. You cant throw it with zero of your guys and two of theirs lol. Once in awhile but when you do it consistently its just poor live action decisions. Game is too fast for him....
It's the coaches fault for putting him in there.
But it is 99% JGs fault that he was a crap QB.
