From WSU (cougars) board ........ interesting comment

So i went to the WSU board to see what comments might be made about JG......here is the most interesting one..

"Guarantano had his issues at UT, however this will be the best offensive line he has ever played behind, and the offense weapons are better than anything he has had before. Sounds like he has something to prove, so if he just plays within himself and the system, he could have his best year ever, if he does, I don't expect the 2nd coming of Minshew, but if he plays well the Cougs have a great year, if he doesn't, well we have 2 other viable options."

another one....

"We do havr someone thats more then capable of getting them the ball and his name is Guarantano.

He did very well getting Tenessee WR's the ball, so much so, that he made the Top 10 statistical passers in Tenessee history list, and had pretty good company with the likes of Peyton Manning, also on that list.

His ability to get WR's the ball wasnt the issue. His issue was crap OL, crap defense, crap coaching, different systems, about 3,4,5,6 different coaches, in his time there, that made him inconsistent.

He shouldnt have those Problems a WSU.

He has NFL Quality WR's in Travell Harris, Calvin Jackson,Moore

He has a NFL RB

He has a NFL O Line and a 1st Round Draft pick OL in Abe Lucas.

And a better coach, and better system.

And he has experience.

If he can stay healthy, not get injured, like how he got injured, and thus only got 1 snap in the Spring game, he will be just fine.

Also in Spring Ball, in his first scrimmage, he went perfect, about 8 for 8, all completions, no incompletions. Led a drive for a TD, threw about a 23 to 33 yard TD pass, about 113 yards, NO INT's.

He has got the arm, can make all the throws.

He 'll do just fine, assuming JDL doesnt stupidly start again.

Guarantano is the favorite to start, its his job to lose."

thanks for posting…..I wondered earlier today what JG was doing at WSU, but guess I didn’t care enough to do the legwork myself haha.

I agree he’s got the physical tools to be successful. I also agree that his tenure here was done no service by multiple regimes and some questionable(I’m being kind) coaching, development, and execution. Tough kid. Played hard……I don’t know if he was in over his head or stuck in his own head, but I think most TN fans ire towards JG was turned up when Pruitt kept trotting him out there over and over again.

I hope he does well, but absolutely laughable that he has better talent around him now up front and at the skill positions………to that I say “come on man!!!”

I saw the same posts, that dude has zero clue about college football or Tennessee. Tennessee last year would have took WSU to the woodshed WITH JG starting for us. No doubt in my mind we'd beat them senseless this year.

Of course we would put a hurting on the Cougars this year if we played them and JG started. I mean, it would be nice to see all those pick 6's being thrown to the guys in orange for a change.

Seriously, I do wish him well and hope he lights up the P12 this year. After his play here though, quite frankly he deserves all the tongue in cheek barbs being tossed his way. Seems like a good kid and he is no doubt tough as nails considering the beatings he took, but he is or was just not an SEC calibre QB and I really wish he had realized that long ago and vacated the premises. I have my doubts he will be much better in the Northwest, but maybe a change of scenery will do him good.

So what they’re saying is that JG threw it to the guys not wearing orange because our O-line is trash. Got it 👍🏼😂

JG had a couple of NFL WR’s to throw to during his time here and decent rb’s. Sure our offensive system sucked but he made a lot terrible decisions and throws that were his to own up to. That offense was just terrible I don’t even like thinking about it, Cheney and Pruitt just piss me off
He had 4 offensive line 5*s and several NFL wide receivers. WSU GTFO

Unless the change of venue, coaching, etc., has had a refreshing, zeroing out and DEVELOPMENTAL aspect to it, they're just kidding themselves. JG's problem is between the ears. It happens....to many, to include physically gifted athletes. As far as his career goes, he cannot perform on gameday. Can't do it. Lights are too bright or something. I don't wish ill will on anyone at this level, but when your decision making and accuracy suffer for 5 years, consistently, it isn't going to be solved by 1 simple year. Even that would be an anomaly.

I remember all of the sound arguments for JG. I hope he does well, but I don’t think it was anything but JG that threw three interceptions against Kentucky, 2 back to back for a pick 6 or that lost the only chance we have had to beat Bama since Kiffin… and then some…

I have always wanted JG to do well. On that hand, if he all of the sudden is great at WSU, it goes to show just how terrible our coaching was and how far anyone’s opinion should be from our program who has consistently been involved in our football program since the years Fulmer was fired. A JG overnight success would mean so many things and help us ID so many things, but it would also be a beautiful story for him.

Lol he played with plenty of NFL guys in those offenses at UT and it didn’t help much… it’s laughable that they think they have more talent around him than he did at UT. The only thing going for them is they don’t have to play an SEC schedule. Things should be a little slower for him. That’ll be the difference
