From WSU (cougars) board ........ interesting comment

So i went to the WSU board to see what comments might be made about JG......here is the most interesting one..

"Guarantano had his issues at UT, however this will be the best offensive line he has ever played behind, and the offense weapons are better than anything he has had before. Sounds like he has something to prove, so if he just plays within himself and the system, he could have his best year ever, if he does, I don't expect the 2nd coming of Minshew, but if he plays well the Cougs have a great year, if he doesn't, well we have 2 other viable options."

another one....

"We do havr someone thats more then capable of getting them the ball and his name is Guarantano.

He did very well getting Tenessee WR's the ball, so much so, that he made the Top 10 statistical passers in Tenessee history list, and had pretty good company with the likes of Peyton Manning, also on that list.

His ability to get WR's the ball wasnt the issue. His issue was crap OL, crap defense, crap coaching, different systems, about 3,4,5,6 different coaches, in his time there, that made him inconsistent.

He shouldnt have those Problems a WSU.

He has NFL Quality WR's in Travell Harris, Calvin Jackson,Moore

He has a NFL RB

He has a NFL O Line and a 1st Round Draft pick OL in Abe Lucas.

And a better coach, and better system.

And he has experience.

If he can stay healthy, not get injured, like how he got injured, and thus only got 1 snap in the Spring game, he will be just fine.

Also in Spring Ball, in his first scrimmage, he went perfect, about 8 for 8, all completions, no incompletions. Led a drive for a TD, threw about a 23 to 33 yard TD pass, about 113 yards, NO INT's.

He has got the arm, can make all the throws.

He 'll do just fine, assuming JDL doesnt stupidly start again.

Guarantano is the favorite to start, its his job to lose."

They will be singing a very different toon by Week 3.

Lol at massively successful OC…buddy he has been average to below average throughout his career. His offense is still stuck in the 90’s and no college team will hire him because of that
lol at building bridges by calling a stranger on a forum "buddy".

Sit on it, Potsy. lol

Don't know anything about WSU's o-line, but I'm going to assume it's definitely not better than an OL that included Trey Smith, Brandon Kennedy, and Cade Mays on it.

Even though Wash State plays in a weak division, I'd still bet on them being one of the weaker teams in it this year. 3-9 or 4-8 is not out of the question.

I'm honestly rooting for JG there, but I don't see any evidence that it's a good team.
Didn't you read that they are all NFL locks? 😂 Wazzou has its share of homers, too!

These ****ers are delusional. Gaurantano had three NFL WR's here and sucked.

Oh, and BTW, his Offense took UGA to the SECCG in 2017, 2018. He was massively successful as recently as that. Further, another team did hire him. The N.O. Saints, as an offensive analyst.

If he's "stuck in the 90s", it's odd since he's known as one of the earlier developers of the spread offensive philosophy while at Purdue, having gone on to mentor those such as Urban Meyer and others in its fundamentals.

Good evening, "pard".

JG had a couple of NFL WR’s to throw to during his time here and decent rb’s. Sure our offensive system sucked but he made a lot terrible decisions and throws that were his to own up to. That offense was just terrible I don’t even like thinking about it, Cheney and Pruitt just piss me off

Coaching was piss poor here. That’s why he kept playing. He shouldn’t have played another down here after the Alabama fiasco in ‘19.

I saw the same posts, that dude has zero clue about college football or Tennessee. Tennessee last year would have took WSU to the woodshed WITH JG starting for us. No doubt in my mind we'd beat them senseless this year.

Lol his offense didn’t take any team to a championship game those Georgia offenses barely averaged 23 points a game while their defense only gave up 15 points a game. Please tell me again which side of the ball truly carried those teams? And being an offensive analyst for an nfl team after being a coordinator for over 10 years is called a regression. You are right though those 90’s Purdue teams where he wasnt even the guy who called the plays were inovative in the 90’s, hence the argument his offense is now archaic…
