From what I was told

No donor should have so much power over a program that a tiff with a coach leads to his firing. I don't care who the coach is in regards to this.

edit: in no way does this post indicate that I think there is truth to this rumor

This is some of the funniest stuff I've ever read on VN!!! I've been laughing for the last ten minutes. Why can't all the threads have good comedy from skilled writers like this? Keep at it boys!!!

After the Florida game, I was told by one of the big donors that Jimmy Haslam called to talk to Dooley and there was a disagreement which ensused to a full blown out argument. Dooley got mad and hung up the phone on Haslam. Haslam said that he didnt care if Dooley won out, he didnt care. Only way he would keep is job is if beat Alabama. I have been Leary bout posting. Haslam said he would pay the 5 million dollor buy out. We all know who runs the program. I have been behind Dooley from day one and will until he is not the coach here. Same way i buy gas from pilot. But if this true, you know you dont cross the boss and not pay for it. I hope this aint true but this donor has never lied to me before. God bless!

But if Dooley won out, it would mean that he had beaten Alabama. Wouldn't it? Seems like winning out would be a good thing.

OP, could you please call back your big donor friend and ask him to clarify?

Do not believe.

Hope like hell its true. We just think this year getting worse, next year our schedule is much, much harder. At Oregon,at UF, at AL, at Mizzou plus GA and SC who Dooley cant beat and not sure who else from the West we play. This was our year to do something and were on the verge of 4straighta losses and 5 out of 6.
