>>>I'd call the edge to Tennessee, even missing a starter.

>>>The very clear advantage for Tennessee is both sides of the passing game.

Imo, there won't be much of a passing game. We're #2 in the nation in time of possession. They'll have rougly 6 & 1/2 minutes per quarter to do any scoring.

Should be no problem running, they give up 164 yards per game, even more to better teams (227 to LSU).

Besides, games aren't decided by talent alone. UT historically doesn't play up to their capabilities in bowl games. I think they're 2-5 in their last 7 bowls. They can't be depended on, even when they're favored. They may have what I'd call IDD (intensity deficit disorder).

Also, they're probably demoralized losing their Big game to LSU. I doubt they'll be Up for this consolation bowl.

we do not play very hard in our bowl games.

We do after we win the East.

I'm actually bucking trend for me and predicting a bowl win this year. The Badgers are good, would've beat last years team, but we'll win. If for no other reason, to send Cut and Troop with a good farewell.

any results / stats you've generated to this point need to be disregarded because you have played the weakest schedule imaginable.

First of all im looking forward to a great matchup on Jan 1. Im a student at MTSU, which obviously makes this game a special one for me being a Badger fan in TN. Im a Badger fan 1st and a Vol fan a far second. After watching both teams this year, I could see it going either way.

That being said, I would be the first to tell you that the Big10 is not as deep as the SEC. However, I do believe the top of the Big10 can play with the top of the SEC year in and year out. Yes, OSU got it handed to them last year (I admit the better team won) but the top 4-5 teams in the Big10 can compete with the top 4-5 teams in the SEC. In my experience most Big10 fans will admit that the SEC is a deeper and overall better conference. The argument in Big10 country is that the SEC is not head and shoulders above the Big10.

Yes, OSU played those 3 weak non-confrence teams, but LSU played a few give me games also:
MTSU:ermm:
Tulane
Louisiana Tech

I realize that overall LSU played a better overall schedule, but someone tell me who deserves to play in the NC over OSU. And please dont say Georgia (look what yall did to them).

I come in peace and hope for a fun and competitive game. My post is not to start a Big10 vs SEC discussion. I just want SEC fans to realize (IMO) most Big10 fans realize the SEC is a better conference, but believe that the Top of each conference is comparable. And a Merry Christmas to all at Vol Nation!

I give USC the nod over OSU
I can't get past OSU's early schedule,
It would be like Tennessee playing
Carson Newman
ETSU
And MTSU

I did not think of USC. They are a strong canidate also, but loosing to Stanford should give OSU the nod. USC had a solid schedule, but OSU's only defeat (Illinois) was a better loss (if there is such a thing).

:snoring:

Same song every year...."ya didn't play/beat anybody".
.....blah..blah.

Bowl games are a different ballgame. Given all the xtra time to heal/prepare, the Badgers always play well. Dating back to the (former) coach Alvarez era, they're 9-3, with 2 of those losses by just a few points. No bad, considering they're usually Not favored by the "experts".

Wisconsin will be ready thats a fact, I really dont know what to expect from Tennessee.

The Vols have been schizophrenic this year.

I predicted Wisconsin to win the Big 10 at the beginning of the year, I watched the WSU game and I got some doubts, then I watched the Iowa game and was totally convinced that my preseason pick was wrong.

This is probaly the best matchup out of all the bowl games besides arguably the BCS title game.
