Don't know if I'll be able to get a preview of our game up before Friday, but I was just looking at some stats from the arkansas game. SEVEN SACKS. On Austin Allen. He should have probably thrown for 100 yards no TDS and 4 INT, but he's apparently a great pocket passer and yes Alabama's secondary probably isn't that great. Just thought that was a noteworthy stats. Also, skews the rushing numbers a good bit.

While it's certainly true that Bama's secondary had a poor showing, I think a lot of it was mental. Yes, Allen put up 400 passing yards, but 300 of those came after Bama was already up by 3 TDs. And Bama's secondary still managed 3 interceptions. While the mental lapses were frustrating, I don't believe that there is any reason to think they'll become a trend.

Good, we won't worry about those fumbles becoming a trend then.

I saw Arkansas beat TN 49 to 7 in 2011 and it still was an awesome experience because of their fans. Random fans invited us to tailgate, gave us free booze and food, and were very cool. I look forward to going back in 2022 or whenever we play there again.

It isn't Alabama's entire defense that is suspect. It is their secondary, and unfortunately Dobbs is not a consistent downfield passer.

Dobbs will still get pressured and it will likely be difficult for Tennessee to consistently run the ball.

Not if were smart and have 4 in the backfield, Hurd, kamara, Kelly, and Dobbs, they won't have one clue who is getting the ball and will not be able to defend that!

Saban/Alabama do not like mobile QBs.

If Dobbs can get some first downs with his legs early on, it should open up a bit of stuff in the intermediate passing game.

If Dobbs makes some of those throws (which I fully believe he can), the Vols can get the bammer D on their heels.

Barnett can get to Hurts .... bammer OL isn't as good as in recent years.

Alabama has played 2 quality opponents, the rest were average teams. Their defense gave up 523 yes and 473 yds. This is not an all-time good Alabama defense. We will move the ball on them. The question is can we slow them down enough to out score them. We need this game to be in the 30's or 40's.

I think Kamara needs to have a big day against Bama. There are so many ways to get him in space, and it can force the front seven to stop being aggressive.

One positive from Hurd being out last week is it gave Kamara more chances and shine (outside the fumble).

UT needs Hurd and Kelly to get the tough yards and Kamara to open the field up.

Would have needed the booze.

Bama won by 19 points, on one play they picked off a pass in the endzone and returned it for a TD, that's a 14 point swing right there. This game was closer than the score shows. This Bama D has given up 995 yards against Ole Miss and Arkansas combined. The only reason they beat Ole Miss and Ark is because their D was opportunistic and scored TDs. If we don't let their D score we can win this one

Bama also fumbled twice inside the Arkansas 5 yard line. So there's Bama giving the 14 point swing right back.

Not even lying, that seriously terrifies me.

I may eat these words but UT will not win if they are behind Bama by 21. Different defense, Different offense, different coaching staff. UT wore down the majority of the other teams in the second half to come back. I don't see that happening Saturday.

I think the comeback margin this week (since we enjoy the excitement) is 14 or less.

Thankfully for us, we don't start playing until 3rd quarter and down by 21.....we win :)

Yep .... Bottomline up front .... Michigan, A&M, and Tennessee have played the best competition through 6 weeks.

I defined "quality win" as a win over a P5 team with a winning record.
Numbers at far left are the Week 7 AP rankings.

Undefeated AP Top 25 Teams - number of wins over Power5 teams that have a winning record.
4) Michigan - 3
6) Texas A&M - 3
1) Alabama - 2
2) Ohio State - 2
3) Clemson - 2
5) Washington - 1
11) Baylor - 1
15) Boise State - 1
20) West Virginia - 1
10) Nebraska - 0
24) Western Michigan - 0

One-Loss AP Top 25 Teams - number of wins over Power5 teams that have a winning record.
9) Tennessee - 3
7) Louisville - 1
8) Wisconsin - 1
13) Houston - 1
17) Virginia Tech - 1
16) Miami - 0
18) Florida - 0
21) Utah - 0
25) Navy - 1 (counting Houston win as a P5 win)

If you take away Allen's sack #s,Ark's YPC goes to nearly 4 YPC on just 24 carries. Their rushing offense isn't good this year either.

They ran it 30 times, less the sacks. And I'm willing to give any team less than 4 YPC on 30 carries any time they want it.

Not sure this works as intended. Being up by 3 TDs means you know the other team is about to start slinging it around, and still couldn't stop it. However, even the best defenses have weaknesses and bad games. I have no doubt our guys can move the ball on anyone.
