I have a friend who has no ties to the SEC/UT, etc. He's a big college football guy and I asked about what he thought about Lane Kiffin. He said that what Kiffin is doing is very impressive for year one. He said that recruiting wise we could argue that we have the best staff in America, and defensively we are one of the Top 10 teams in the country. He felt that without question UT is looking like a future force to be reckon with. Just figured I'd show that people are taking notice of what's going on and the future we have.

I think a lot of people that us keeping the Florida game close was a fluke...Then once we come out and played like we did against Bama and knowing we should have beat them, opened up a lot of people's eyes....Not saying we're great this year but I think we're better than a lot of us expected

Although it seems that everyone is saying pretty much the same thing (except for our biggest rivals), it is still nice to see it stated one more time. (Still pinching myself to make sure it isn't a dream):rock::dance2:

I'm not sure what everyone around the country thought, but up here in Ohio, the Kiffin hire never really seemed to be met with much criticism. The Chizik hire was criticized much more. Most people who follow football outside the Buckeyes realized the situation in Oakland was all Al Davis' fault. I remember than ESPN poll (obviously not the most accurate thing in the world) indicated that the majority of people expected Kiffin to make Tennessee great again.

In fact, it seems the only people who criticized the hire were the people who Kiffin offended and people who hate Tennessee in general. It definitely seem like more people are buying into the hype.

I have been hearing the Vols get a lot of praise from many media outlets. It seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now. Everyone thinks we will be a major force in the coming years. I don't recall hearing any of the Kiffin is going to fall on his face crowd recently.

There is no question TN is better this year, but I think the biggest positive is not Lane but Monte Kiffin. TN has the best DC in the nation, without question. If TN can find any offense they will be a factor in 2-3 yrs.

Really and what fact based information do you have? I am going to assume that this is a matter of personal opinion. Do I even need to bring up your great game against Utah or the fact that a "crappy 4-4" team almost ended your statement? You all might get this years(IMO not likely)but when you leave Knoxville with a loss next year you will not have a bid for a NC

Tennessee's offense is about 14 times better this year than last year. I'd say the offense has already made huge progress. If I were you, I would try to ignore everything, too. It must suck to know that unlike Bama, UT got the hire right on the first try.
