From a Dawg Fan ..

Phil suffered the same fate. back to back SEC titles, and a national title in the first 6 years...and couldn't ever get it back. CMR is where CPF was from 05 thru 08....everything around him looked like it was just passing him by...Saban, Richt, Meyer, Miles.......striding right by Fulmer.

i see a lot of similarities right now between us during that 4 season stretch, and what GA is going thru.

the good news, you guys haven't fallen off so bad that it's resulted in losing seasons, and multi year losing streaks to your biggest rivals. but the signs are all there....

it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next couple of years. i'll be very surprised if he's fired this year....he shouldn't be

I really don't think he will be either. Plus, I doubt they keep Eason on board if they let him go. That's another positive here .. compare it to USuCk and you see that not only are they not winning, their recruiting classes are a joke.

The Dawgs have a very nice class shaping up for 2016 with a couple of guys turning into epic UGA/UT/AU battles (watch out for AU with those envelopes and trash can in the park bag drops).

It's all good though. CMR will still be there and the team should be in good shape but I have this feeling that the 18 year old Eason will almost have to be considered to start from day 1 and that is a lot of pressure for a young kid.

Exactly, we need ya'll to lose to one more SEC team not named Florida from my perspective for us to feel more comfortable. We both need the wheels to come off at Florida imo. Grier loosened up those lug nuts quite a bit, they now need to hit a few speed bumps for that to happen.

That crap came from out of nowhere .. they don't have the running game they had last year to back up Harris either so it's not the same team that beat UGA with Harris .. I like the chances depending on whether Lambert decides to be a QB for that game.

If your took Tebow's "career" completion percentage and compared to current SEC QB's Tebow would be leading the league. He completed over 66% of his passes on his career. Doesn't change your narrative I guess but fact is Tebow was very accurate on the college level.

His offensive line though...AND Percy Harvin, Brandon James AND Dallas Baker and that Hernandez guy. Defense was stout too. Let's be fair.

Tebow did his thing but he had great talent around him.

Idk if it's said yet but.. Awesome game! My condolences to Chubb..

And don't get rid of your 10-2 coach. The time will come. Look where we're at after firing our winning coach.

Can we talk about Georgia's number 54 Brandon Kublanow? I have heard varying opinions but there's no doubt in my book he took a cheap shot at Tuttle. First he grabbed Shy's jersey then upon release dove at Tuttles knees/ankles from behind. How would he like it if someone did that to him? The NCAA has made it almost mandatory for defenders to tackle at the knees but an offensive linemen engaged and then diving as a last resort should be a penalty at the least. Cheap shot.

I agree Chubb is a great player and by all accounts an outstanding person. It made me sick to see him get hurt.

I know that one looked bad and I didn't like seeing a young guy like Tuttle get worked like that. I saw the video again and didn't think it was from behind at all (not sure that hit can be made from behind honestly). I am not trying to compare the two because they are two different situations but it looked like the Cam Sutton hit on Keith Marshall in 2013.

Sorry it happened the way it did though because, JMHO, I think Tuttle will turn out to be better than Makenzie.

What is Tuttle's status? I didn't hear the diagnosis afterwards.

I tell that to our fan base all the time. Be careful what you wish for. :hi:

Based on numbers yes, but living in FL, I got a lot of close looks at UF games and the guy was a pure winner but he had a lot of dink and dunk type throws to some dude named Percy which helps A LOT. My only sour note with Timmy T is that he was a Gator otherwise I think he is getting an NFL screwjob. That being said, he wasn't as accurate as stats would appear just had a lot of weapons, including TEs (some guy playing in the prison league soon) to go to in the short game.

You may be right and I love Dobbs as a playmaker but talk about dink and dunk.......Dobbs is only about 58% on the year and I would guess anything over 10 yards is well less than 50%. Are you calling Hernandez a weapon? Hernandez had more weapons than Tebow. lol wait that ain't funny.....

It's about a 50/50 split right now (should he stay or should he go? Like the Clash playing a college football song). I personally want him to stay. People act like winning a NC is no big deal because they saw Urban Crier and Nicky Saban do it a few times along with Miles and the AU clowns. It takes a lot of luck and timing of having the right pieces there all at the same time. I absolutely believe the Dawgs are an above-average QB away from being able to beat anyone in the west. Problem is, they don't have that showing right now. All other pieces are in place, but some of those pieces graduate this year.

I want a title too, but not at the expense of recruiting like the Barn with envelopes full of cash or Bama having your star RB driving around in a Denali that he obviously can't afford. Jarvis Jones when he was at UGA drove around in a beat up ride from the 80s. I'd rather not win than have the NCAA living on campus which they would do to UGA (see AJ Green .. sell a jersey, get suspended for 4 games).

It is disgusting what Bama and the Barn get away with. Condolences to Chubb. Hated watching that.

Many in the fan base seem to forget life prior to CMR with Donnan and Goff. CMR is a victim of his own early success coming in after those two and winning the SEC twice in about 6 years.

Success can spoil a fan base. Not every team will win every game and only one will be a national champion at years end. Chances are not good and it's as if the stars have to align. CMR is a great coach.

First, I want to compliment the Vol Nation on the amount of class you guys have shown in the win .. not just in the win but in the outpouring of support for our injured Big Dawg.

Second, I know Dobbs has been a point of contention for the threads on here, but I really think he would have been better had no one messed with his mechanics before the season. The kid is a gamer and he may never be the most accurate QB, but then again, neither was Tim Tebow and that seemed to work out pretty good. Dobbs had an outstanding game Saturday because dude just wants to win. :clapping:

Lastly, enough of my wallowing in this, time to go give a frustration beat down to Mizzou .. maybe the Dawgs can run the Wild Dawg formation with Sony about 40 times a game and not worry about our QB woes.

Good game SEC bretheren!

Good post TDawg. Win out!

Yeah, I hated to see Chubb go down. Poor kid was really hurting too. At the end of the day, this is a game. I'd love to see Chubb in the pros and I believe he'll rehab that thing, come back strong for UGA, and be a success in the NFL. Good luck with the rest of your season! And beat those stupid jort wearing GATURDS! Lol!

dawg fan should be cussing his defense......scoring 31, even though their offense only got 17 of them, should have been enough to win that game. Georgia could have given up close to 50 if not for the fumble and Tennessee dropping 3 TD passes on one series and having to settle for a fg.
