Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/30/24)

198.6
(3.2)
198.6 stayed even this week.
Calories in this week averaged 2317 So I guess my TDEE this week was about the same. I had very little exercise due to severe outer ear infection which caused swelling in one side of my face. Sill not over it completely.
Goals on a weekly basis are 1714 daily calories with a TDEE of 3000. That should help my goal of losing 10 pounds per month to get to 159 when I turn 59 on 12/31. 159 by 59 Baby!

What’s your target date? Give it to us & we can help e-push ya. Map out a plan, get after it & stay with it
Deadline in this case actually means work deadline which =stress eating=weight gain.

As for actual weight loss goals End of the year has been my goal since my Birthday in June. But because of how well I have been doing I am trying to move that up. If I can get down to 200 for thanksgiving that would be nice. That way I can get back to 200 by the end of the year.

My bad, thought you was trying to get to 200 soon for a hike that was coming up & was referring to that.
200 (8.4 lbs) by Thanksgiving (89 days) should be no problem for ya unless you fall off the wagon & bump your head real hard!!

I would like to hit 200 here in the next couple weeks going on a hike so it serves double duty. Training and weight loss, making it easier both ways.

Yeah the hike is just a motivational thing. Not a real goal.

My weight loss has always been like a bungee cord, it drops and goes up a little, drops and goes up a little...and I am finding the older I get, the slower its going.
Been working on weight control since 2001. Up & down like you said. Get fat & then go on program to lose some. I’ve lost close to 400 pounds during that time. Highest weight was 263 & have been 250 multiple times. Last time I was under 200 was 1989. 20 years ago I could carry 230 just fine but not now. 230 now is a big gut & flabby titties. Looks like sh!t.
I’ve got a few years on you & my biological clock is running thin to get it done. This time I’m going to 195 & will maintain it at that. Short obtainable goals work the best for me. Reach that goal, take a short break & set another one. I find that the longer goals are easier to give up on especially when I hit that wall.
Very thankful that I have excellent health & can still exercise & get in the streets & do 30+ miles a week. Running is my favorite part of all the exercises I do

I disagree with the short breaks. I have certain monthly benchmarks to reach by the end of the year but I believe the most important thing is change your eating habits permanently. I look at my calories consumed on a weekly basis. At my height and weight and exercise level I know around 2000 calories consumed or less will create weight loss per week until I drop another 40 by year-end. I will still track my calories then to understand my maintenance calories to stay between 155 to 160 which is my senior High School weight. Started at 257.4 on Feb 4th. Again the key is not dieting but starting this week eat at a calorie intake which is a healthy level for the rest of your life. Your weight loss will plateau when you reach your natural healthy weight vs calories consumed and calories expended.

152.1 down .3 pounds. Looks like I was spot on.

Next week should be normalized and I expect to be between .6 and 1 pound lower. Let’s see.

7~ more to go
151.5

Hit that low end of .6 pounds. Veins running everywhere except just a little on my legs and upper chest. Legs are both skinny and fat lol.

Around 6.4 pounds to go
