Your team must have been all seniors last year.My ol school is going in the opposite direction.
After the 47-0 drubbing laid on them tonight by Station Camp, the 2005 3A state champions, Livingston Academy, are now 0-3 and are staring down a possible 0-10 season. They haven't even played Knoxville Catholic, Austin East, or Fulton yet.
That got me to wondering... has a state champion followed their championship season up with a winless record? I doubt it...
Another oddity from their game tonight... LA had THREE punts blocked... all by the SAME GUY! Somebody block or hold him or something!
I don't think that should put a coach on the hot seat... Unless your old school has the resources to dominate all the way through.
Luckily, my high school does not have to worry about districting, as it is one of those private schools that #5McCoy feels don't have any talent and don't play anybody (although they are a 5A school.)That sounds like resources to me.
I'm kinda bummed Glencoe's program went in the crapper. Two new high schools open up in the area within 5 years of eachother, basically cutting the talent pool way down. Not only that, but they both stole from the more favorable economic areas from which to get talent. And it's not easily fixed, because high schools simply don't recruit out here. Even for a guy as talented as Ainge, the high school you live closest to is the one you play for.
What stings is the fact that these new schools that were opened up weren't even necesary. And my HS alma matter gets stuck with a population consisting almost entirely of kids from the sticks and el barrio, which effectively killed the football program.
I like that minority rule.Luckily, my high school does not have to worry about districting, as it is one of those private schools that #5McCoy feels don't have any talent and don't play anybody (although they are a 5A school.)
However, I personally enjoy the Texas public school system. Everyone is districted, however, you are allowed to any school in which you would be a minority there. This loophole has allowed Texas public schools to effectively recruit throughout their regions.
