His defense got absolutely thrashed against Purdue, but they have offensive difficulties at times too. The offense certainly didn't lose them the Purdue game, but I think Ohio St fans haven't been happy with their offense going back to when Braxton Miller never quite came around like they thought during 2015. Also coincides with Tom Herman's departure.

I'd love to see Ohio St drop another game, maybe to Michigan St or Michigan (and I hate Michigan) and see what happens.

Urban wll never take being dismissed. His chest hurting will crop up again and for the good of his family he'll take time off. This guy is ego personified IMO. If Kelly can get ND in the playoffs, he'll get embarrassed his first game. ND will give him a one and done next year if Meyer sits and then Urban rolls into South Bend is my prediction.

The argument against the interim to UT fans was that given the nature of the allegations Schiano would be a bad move to interim because the UT fanbase tarnished his name from the PSU stuff....ie...he isn't a bad guy, but UT made him one.

Impressively stupid, I know.

This would be straight football though. If Schiano is really the awesome HC everybody says he was, then he should be the no brainer pick according to the propaganda spouted by those who ridiculed us. The hypocrisy here will be delicious.
Whether you tend to be someone who believe he is fine or someone who thinks he’s terrible, it has zero to do with what happened with UT. His actions are his own and we reacted to the perception of his possible actions. If someone backs off because of what happened with us that says to me they are looking for an excuse. Anyway, certainly an interesting point you brought up there.

They didn't have much of a choice. They were looking at much worse penalties from the NCAA if they kept him.
Tressel was given a 5 year show cause AFTER stepping down. He didn’t just lie to the NCAA like Pearl did, he withheld information to the FBI

Before the offseason drama I would agree. I don’t think Notre Dame would do it now. That wouldn’t be quite as bad as him being at OSU but it would be close.

I hate Michigan....go Wolverines, crush the Buckeyes. That will end it for Urby.
Heck an upset by Nebraska would end it as well.
Yeah I don’t think UM has beaten OSU in 6 years. A loss to them this year could cause the trigger to be pulled on his termination unless he voluntarily resigns. We all KNOW unless he has a legit heart attack he’s likely not gonna quit. If the corn dogs beat OSU being currently 1-6 that alone would get him fired lol. This is his last year IMHO. There will be a new coach by February 2019....

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer on Tuesday denied a report that tension is building between him and athletic director Gene Smith, as well as on the Buckeyes' coaching staff.

Football Scoop reported Monday, citing industry sources, that "friction" has been building between Meyer and Smith, who both were suspended following a university-commissioned investigation into the handling of former football assistant Zach Smith.

"There's no tension," Meyer said Tuesday when asked about the report. "I talk and work with Gene darn near on a daily basis. There's zero tension there."

Meyer: 'Urgency' for staff, but no tension with AD

Right, but if Ohio St kept Tressel, the NCAA would have dropped the hammer even harder. Schools let coaches go all the time (like Vols did with Pearl) accused of violations to soften the blow from the NCAA. The 5-year show cause was for Tressel specifically, and he was likely getting that whether or not Ohio St let him go.

I didn't put much stock into the "tension" talk before this, but after UM denies it is going on, I now believe it. You can pretty much go with the opposite from whatever that lying sack of **** says.

Meyer is elite. He wouldnt have to wait long for a great job.

For some reason I see him waiting a year then either replacing Malzahn at Auburn or going West like when he was at Utah and trying some job out there. Of course there is always the never ending will he go to where his book said his dream job was in Notre Dame? The Auburn thing is what I would watch. The SEC loves recycled winners in this league.
