47 for Martin?

44 for couch? Wow, that reminds me of that DT #34 that Bama used to have was pretty good. Just strange to have a beastie in a low #. We need him to take over that spot and stay healthy.

47 for Martin?

I don't find it that odd, but I personally have always thought he'd eventually end up at linebacker and prove to be a talented undersized 'backer like Kevin Simon. I could be wrong, but he's not particularly fast and he's more of a big hitter than a ball hawk. He'll be a safety this year, but he could weigh 220 by the start of 2012 and bolster the depth at linebacker.

I was hoping Maggitt would get a single digit #. Like 7 or something. AJ is going to look scary at linebacker with a visor and his dreads. He's my favorite recruit in this class.

Smith with 29 seems odd to me.

Same with me as I saw Tom wearing No. 7 for three years in high school. But, he could wear 3/8 as long as he's carrying the football into the checkerboard! 5-4-3-2-1 ... Give him SIX!

How many are we from the full 85 schollys? Would we run into the problem of having players that have to double up on numbers?

81 or 82 on scholly, including J. Jackson, B. Martin, Lathers, & the incoming freshmen, by my count (it's getting late so I may have miscounted!).

Plus we have many walk-ons that have been assigned #s, lots of them duplicates. And there are nine retired #s: 16, 91, 92, 32, 49, 61, & 62.

It looks like there are 90 total #s for 82 on scholly, so no duplicates except for walk-ons.
