Not sure what to make of this. You guys have some negavols but are basically optimistic. UF has won the East back to back, but the neGators are are in full control on our boards.

Tennessee signee Ty Chandler tweaks muscle, drops from races

Tennessee football signee, Ty Chandler entered the finals of the state track meet feeling good and ready to run.

But all the good feelings couldn’t save Montgomery Bell Academy’s Chandler, who ended up tweaking his hamstring in his first race of the day.

Montgomery Bell Academy's Ty Chandler watches the 200 meter race that he was supposed to compete in ...m
Chandler came out of the blocks during the 100 meter race and said he felt the strain about 30 meters into the race. He would go on to finish in eighth in that race, but spent several minutes following grabbing the back of his leg and walked with a slight limp off the track.
I really don’t know what it was. I warmed up good. Hydrated. It’s just bad luck. It happens.
He was supposed to also compete in the 4 x 100 relay and the 200 meter race later in the day.
“I felt good about all the races I was going to compete in and I thought we had a chance to break the record in the 4 x 100, the school record,” said Chandler. “I felt good about today. But I came in and obviously couldn’t run. It’s disappointing.”

Almost three hours later, instead of lining up on the blocks for the 200 meter race as originally expected, Chandler watched his competitors while peeking over the fence of the football practice field next to the stadium.
“It was tough. It’s something that you train hard for all year and then you get here and you can’t compete,” said Chandler. “It’s a tough thing but it’s just part of the game, it’s just part of the game. It is what it is.”

While Chandler likely could have ran in the other races, the decision to pull him was made as a precaution since he reports to Tennessee next week.
“He’s done a great service to the school. Of course you hate seeing his high school career end on an injury but at the same time he’s about to start training for football. You have to be smart about it,” said Jamie Redmond, a coach with the track program.

It is rare that Freshmen come in and contribute heavily in the SEC. However, the offseason threads are slow so I'll throw out a question.

Which two freshmen would be the most impactful if they contribute?

I'm going to go with

1) Ty Chandler and it's not close
2) Jordan Murphy. With Josh Smith in question we really only have 5 decent WRs and probably only one star. If he could come in and give us 10-15 snaps where he makes an impact it would go a long way towards success.

EDIT: Clarification from the OP. My picks were need based selections. If you look at the depth chart RB is terribly thin and WR isn't accomplished as a unit.

My picks were based upon if there were two players we NEED to contribute, who would they be?

Trey Smith is obviously ready to contribute, but it could be argued that even if he didn't play his position would be ok.

Chart showing freshman contributions. updated for SEC conference only at this point.
