Fresh Look (?) at Secondary Violations & CLK

it's news because CLK did 2 things (1) made some of the missteps in public and (2) chose to release the secondary violations to the media (when not required). The national news decided to run with it and the lazy local media decided they didn't want to be left out and just parroted ESPN. Does their relationship with the AD under the previous regime come in to play? Probably but that's understandable. They're actually having to do some real work for the first time in 17yrs and are none too happy.

I can see that.

To 1): His missteps certainly garnered more attention than Chizik's, both locally and nationally, but were nowhere near as publicly flagrant - in so many areas - as the "Big Cat" Auburn debacle.

To 2): Why is the UTAD Compliance Office not only publicly releasing them, when both the SEC and NCAA go to such pains to keep them somewhat off-limits (i.e. information is only accessible via a password-protected site), but releasing them upon their occurrence, instead of en masse on an annual / quarterly basis as other schools do?

I can see the desire for transparency in immediately making them public (i.e. we're not hiding anything from either the SEC/NCAA or the general public), but also believe that this practice could be stopped with a single phone call from MH, if he wanted to stop them from doing so.

So.....

Are they releasing them like this (publicly, as they occur) for some reason?

Because that's how they've always done it in the past, and that which they continue to this day?

or

Because CLK / MH really wants the publicity - despite the fact that some see it as a negative, with the notable exceptions of recruits, who not only don't seem to mind it, but possibly prefer the moxie it shows in committing them?

You'd fare much better by calling on the services of any number of other more intelligent / articulate posters than I. QUOTE]

don't sell yourself short. everyone might not agree with all that you say, but it nevertheless reflects I/A.
