I'm guilty. I'm highly offended at islam for wanting to decapitate and kill those who don't convert, throw homosexuals from roof tops, thinks its ok to rape young boys and girls, and thinks its ok to beat their wives. This is where I'm confused at you liberals. You claim to stand for homosexuals and women's rights, yet bow down to their beliefs, and scorn those of us against it. You can't support a homosexual and a religion who kills them at the same time. You can't support women's rights and equality and a people who belive its ok to beat them at the same time. I wouldn't say much about it here if the hypocrisy wasn't so obvious.

The real problem is the people who see it as a black and white issue on either side. On one hand, you have the apologists who excuse heinous acts such as rape and murder solely because of the minority status of the perpetrators. On the other, you have people who want to scourge the planet of the Islam menace.

And then you have a bunch of people in the middle who recognize that Islamic teachings are fundamentally dangerous when taken to their extreme but at the same time realize that Muslims are a diverse group of people, many of whom serve as high-functioning contributors to society. It is very healthy to have skepticism about some aspects of Islamic culture given recent history, but generalizations get us nowhere.

I find it amusing the liberals that are so defensive of Islam and Islamic believing people, yet, are not Islamic themselves and really know nothing of the intricacies of the religion (loosely defined). Spot on loevol33. There is much, much more that could be expounded on, however, that would be pointless on here. Just know the 'religion of peace' has one goal - world domination.

There are certainly archaic parts of the Koran that should be permanently deleted, but the Sunni's seem to be fairly reform minded at this point in time. Don't judge all of the members of the faith by the actions of a few.

I find it amusing that liberals are so defensive of Islam, a religion so diametrically opposed to their keystone ideologies, but want to lambast Christianity, a religion that has generally gone hand in hand with Western freedoms and ideology.
