Its just me but I believe that a big reason that many of our games are so close is because of our lack of ability to shoot free throws. I know that we are not the only team that has problems with this but it seems to me that this is really holding us down. Anybody else agree or have any thoughts ?

you would think with people draining threes from everywhere w/ people in there face that u could make a short, uncontested shot????

should freethrows is a little harder than you think. Play has stop, it's usually dead quite (depending on where you're playing) and everbody is watching just you. But yes I agree. We gotta do better than 46% on free throws

Remember playing ball, miss a free throw you run! To play at that level and can't make free toss, unbelievable! If UT makes their free throws they beat Vandy

this is why my coach called them foul shots and not free throws, because they aren't always free

They can't make 'em all, but I don't think it's unrealistic to expect a Top 25 Division I team to shoot between 65 and 70 percent as a team (basically making two out of three). 45% vs. 65% can be a difference of 3-8 points a game, depending on how often we get to the line.

i don't think anyone is looking for 90% or anything...but we regularly leave 6-8 pts per game at the stripe.

First of the year, it seemed the Freshmen couldn't make one. I have seen improvement in all of them. They just need a little more time before they will be making them all. Patience Grasshopper.

the way we lost makes it worse. Free throws aren't that hard... OSU was like 16-18, why do we have to suck at them?
