Free Pass for Kiffin?

I guess there's just nothing else to write about at this point in the year.

Well written, sorry to be critical. I'm just weary of the storyline...

Mike,I really don't think Lane cares one way or another whether you give him a pass or not I know I don't...gawd knows you or I have never said anything we have regretted later, I do believe he has now figured out that everything he sez or does is gonna get reported on....yes were not in Oakland anymore'

I thought women were suppose to be treated evenly to men? If they can't keep up they don't need to be workig with the man. It is not a gender thing.

It's a Southern thing....I've always thought. And, those secretaries aren't public figures getting paid a ton of money to take public criticism.

Imagine if your wife, or daughter, worked over there and was thrown under the bus.

I think Kiffin made a mistake, and knows he made a mistake

Pretty good read. We're all tired of the subject matter but it was nice to see a relatively even take on it. The national media approach of "louder and more cynical = right" has gotten old.

32,
I am glad you are working SO hard to bring up this weak stuff against CLK. Keep up the GREAT work. :good!:

He didn't mention them by name though.

It seems kind of tough to be thrown under the bus when he used a general term (secretaries) as opposed to naming specific people.

Very few people even know who the secretaries are, and 99% of the SI readers will never know who they are.

Why is more "insensitive to women" to talk about firing secretaries than it is for you to see the word secretaries and just assume he meant women?

Go read any literature on Jack Welch and GE. And you will understand about cutting the fat.

If you can't keep up, no matter what part you have between your legs, you should be fired. If you can't help UT get a championship, then get out of the department. Go work in Financial Aide or Admissions. They always seem to run on their own time, not trying to make an end product the best it can be.

The only sexism I see here is the assumption that the secretaries were women. Even if they were, I cannot see how Kiff's comments are the least bit sexist.

Churchill (not that Lane compares to Churchill) went through male and female secretaries like kleenex. If they can't do the job, they can't do the job.

I agree.. This isnt news.. If you have a job and cant do the work expected of you, you wont be there long. This is for any job.

anyone heard anything about one of the new assistants in the past few days? a couple of local hosts here on 680 the Fan in Atlanta are saying they've heard something pretty serious about him from multiple people close to the TN program. They won't say anything beyond that since they say it's not confirmed. They are mentioning the name only, but I will not.

They did say that if it gets out, UT would almost certainly have to fire this guy...

one of the guys (Chuck Oliver) knows more about college football than anyone on TV or radio that i've ever heard, & he seems to have lots of good contacts. He's been right on a lot of coaching searches & things before you saw any mention in the press, so i'm inclined to take what he says seriously.

i have searched all over & cannot find anything...
