I work for Pace bike share in Knoxville. You have maybe seen our bikes downtown, in South Knox, or on Campus.

With Freak's blessing, we created a promo code just for VN which will allow you to ride for free. We have bikes all over downtown, campus, and in South Knox. You can see all of our locations on the Pace app. The bikes are all 5 speed models and should get you up any hills you encounter. They will definitely give you flexibility in where you decide to park and begin your trip to the stadium. You are welcome to ride with us!

If you want to get started, visit Ride Pace Knoxville and then download the app for your smartphone (Android or IOS). Go through the signup process in the app, and when finished click on the menu, select Promo and enter: VOLNATION for a free $5.00 in ride credits. This will give you 2.5 hours of ride time at no cost and I am confident you can get from anywhere in Knoxvillle to Neyland in that amount of time.

There is map of our station locations within the app. If you are near downtown, you are probably close to one of our bikes as we have stations throughout the area. You do NOT have to return the bike to our station as you can use any public bike rack to end your ride and secure the bike.

Thanks for reading VN. If you ride with us, post up some pics on Instagram or Twitter while wearing your Orange! Use #paceKnoxville if you tag us. This is our first game day in town and we are looking forward to it! GBO!

Excellent. I hope more and more people realize how easy it is to bike to campus from the fringes. I frequently ride my bike to campus when my family is out of town and we are not tailgating ourselves. I'll ride to a friends tailgate at the AG campus and lock it up, have a good time, and then ride back. I usually park at the greenway by West High School. I have lights on my bike for when it's dark. Never had a problem.

That's awesome, Knoxville is a great place to ride. If not riding to the stadium, grab one after the game and cruise around downtown. This is the very first game day for us in Knoxville so we are excited to see how it plays out.

If large # s ride in to Neyland. Is there enough slots for bikes to park there or will it be full?

Livefaith, good question! There is parking nearby and over near Calhoun's on the River, on campus, etc. This is the first game day though and we are not sure what to expect as far as the number of rides, where people want to start and end their ride, etc. If you have suggestions for a good starting location or route, share them here. We are trying to anticipate ridership and stage bikes / stations accordingly, but this will be an interesting test for us.

I will work on a map showing our stations and the public bike stations (you can use those) when I am in the shop tomorrow. I will post it here. Give it a go, suggestions welcome! We do well with larger events but they have all paled in comparison to a game day in Knoxville so no doubt lessons will be learned.

It depends on the officer, but absolutely. What constitutes a "vehicle" is often subjective in DUI law. I've met someone who got a DUI on a skateboard. My in-laws knew a guy who got a DUI on a riding lawnmower after three beers crossing the street to mow an elderly woman's yard for her. Just be careful lol

The menu is just the little "hamburger style" icon, top left of your app screen, three horizontal lines stacked on each other. Let me know if that works, thanks for trying it out!

Uhm...you can in fact get a DUI on a bike. Be safe out there! We need our VOLS in the stands shaking Neyland, not doing the DUI hokey pokey on the side of the road.

Attaching an interactive map courtesy of UT's GIS students who were kind enough to plot out all of the bike racks in and around campus. We also have our own rack at the Student Bridge that isn't included here as it wasn't installed at the time of survey. As always, with construction on campus, things change and a rack could be moved or down, but this will get you in the ballpark. There is a little space at Volunteer Landing as well, and while in the Pace App you will see our stations also.

We are so excited to see how this plays out! I bet the VOL Navy started with one or two boats, so let's start a VOL Peloton tomorrow with as many bikes as we can muster. Ride safe and have fun. Don't lock your bike to a sleeping dog or passed out fan! Keep your corn in your jar until you get home to celebrate our first home game WIN under Pruitt. GBO!

UT Campus Interactive Map

Remember, you have a map in your Pace App as well.

Campus is hopping, so is downtown. We just slung bikes all over this scruffy city. I think you will find plenty of public bike racks on campus.

If anyone finds a cool route to the stadium or campus, share it here! Outdoor Knoxville has some nice maps, especially the mega greenway map that might give you some ideas for bypassing traffic. You can check it out here: Outdoor Knoxville Greenway Map

You might catch us at one of our partner sites tomorrow, possibly Alliance Brewing in South Knox. Good place for a beer and South Coast Pizza (another partner of ours) is right down the street.

Last note: If you have a business or facility in town and would like to have our bikes available for your customers, hit me up! We have plans ranging from Freemium (no cost to you) to fully sponsored bikes and stations. We are mostly down town, campus, and S. Knox at the moment but let me know what you have in mind. Cheers!
