It doesn't look great for UT, but it's better for the players. If they're not drafted during the first two days, their agents can negotiate better deals as UDFAs. And some, like North, have the leverage to choose where they prefer to play.
The Vols had three players who would have been drafted if they had declared early, and we'll probably have 6-7 signed as UDFAs. It's not as bleak as some seem to think.
Looks like our staff kind of failed these guys... Randolph and or North should have been drafted. Best of luck to those guys.

How will that impact next years draft? Just curious
Sorry, you're right. I went back and watched it.
Was out on the back deck grilling when I heard it. I came inside when I heard Tennessee and thought Davis was the one that said it. My bad.
But I have heard him speak unfavorably about Tennessee on the radio in Charlotte before. He may have had good reason but he isn't always ALLVOL when Tennessee subject comes up.

NFL teams will see how players from CBJ's react to the demands of being a pro. If these guys signing the FA contracts act the part that will be a positive reflection on Butch. Of course the other side of the coin, if these guys act like a bunch of Jackwagons and wash out, the exact opposite will happen, either way they will be a reflection of how well Butch is preparing players for the NFL. I'm not talking talent, I'm talking being professional and having a solid work ethic and commitment to excellence.

With all due respect, IMHO, none of that will matter with regards to which of our players get drafted next year. What's gonna matter the most is the quality of play/playmaking they can put on tape, how well they test at the combine and/or their pro day and how well they interview and workout for individual teams.
For example, no team is gonna care about what Marquez North is doing in LA when they're evaluating Cam Sutton or Jalen Hurd next year. It's gonna be all about what Cam and Jalen have done and are doing when teams are making a decision about them.
It would be awesome for Hurd to stay his Senior year and win back to back National Championships, along with a Heisman Trophy.
Talent and tape will be what they look at first, but if the guys that get a shot and prove that they were draft worthy based off how they are prepared for the NFL lifestyle, they could miss out. UT is known for preparing players for the NFL, CBJ will continue that tradition.
But yeah, character is secondary to talent and tape.

Sad thing is, vandy just had a player drafted. We are officially the only team in the SEC that hasn't had a player drafted this year (and last if you're counting).
But on the bright side, next year we could have 10+
There is a difference in what someone hears and what someone understands. And it seems you are poor at telling the difference.
I have heard Charles Davis speak unfavorably about the state of the Tennessee program before. But to conclude he is not All Vol? Dead Wrong.
Next time you hear someone, here is a novel idea. Try listening next time.
He tweeted out an APPY State fan saying that. Here's his tweet....notice that he forwarded it to Coach Jones, along with the date of the game....
