Weird having this thread on a Thursday!

Who's going to the game? How far are you traveling to get here, or do you live close by? Tailgating plans?

If you're watching from home, do you have any plans? What's on the menu?

What other games are you looking forward to this weekend? Anyone checking out area high school games this week?

It's off topic, so feel free to talk about the questions above or anything else on your mind, sports related or not.

Go Vols!

Who's going to the game? Going and can’t wait
How far are you traveling to get here, or do you live close by? 85 miles
Tailgating plans? No tailgate, late lunch at Turkey Creek and try and make VOL walk

What other games are you looking forward to this weekend? All of them lol. Favorite time of year-college football and deer season
Anyone checking out area high school games this week? Most likely Bradley vs Cleveland. Go Bears!

Where do you like to eat in Turkey Creek? I like Smokey Mountain Brewery and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Pretty good weekend to start the season. Pitt v WVU will be an interesting game. We will know a lot more about the rebuilt Pitt team after they play a decent opponent. The combination of Harrell and JT Daniel should pressure Pitt some.

UGA v Oregon could be a lot of fun and maybe even provide a few hints about our game with UGA. UF v Utah can help define UF. Both they and LSU are enigmas at this point.

Others of interest that I will try to check:

UNC v App St
Cinc v Ark
Penn St v Purdue
Miami v UK
ND v OSU
FSU v LSU

Lots of good games for a week 1.

YEAH BABBY !!! The Freak before game off topic thread...I now know that it's football time in TENNESSEE !!!

I got some meatloaf burgers waiting in the fridge (basically make your meatloaf recipe but slightly over-season, make burger patties, vacuum seal, and place in the fridge overnight) to throw on the grill along with some mac and cheese.

Going to keep an eye on Penn St / Purdue during our game because of friends at work that are PU alumni. Might try to sneak away on Friday night to see Illinois and IU in Bloomington just because it's college football and the tickets should be reasonable...HAHAHA

Man, this feels like Christmas Eve. I probably won't sleep a wink tonight. I'm saving my annual trip to Knoxville for the Florida game this year. 6 hour drive from west TN so can't watch live as often as I'd like. Bringing the wife this year. We're pretty excited. Probably do some wings and other finger foods tomorrow. My 4 year old future Vols cheerleader will be screaming Go Vols for the entirety. It's a thing of beauty watching her love our beloved Vols so much at such a young age. Proud dad here.

Go Vols!
Here in upper, upper East TN (Hawkins County to be precise), we will be down on the river out in the country with a 16 ft inflatable screen, HD projector and huge sound system to enjoy the beat down in the cool, almost Fall air.....

Burgers, pulled pork nachos, several adult beverages, cigars and lots of friends to enjoy the late evening experience.

Taking Friday off for a super long weekend. Mowing Friday morning, catching some HS ball on Friday night, car show Saturday morning, golf Saturday afternoon, Sunday will be prepping deer stands and plots as well as getting our duck blind reset from the summer flooding....

and Monday will be set aside for recovery. GO VOLS!!!

EDIT: It's also the start of Freshman year for my niece.....we raised her right, huge Vol fan and smart girl. Has the new Dogwood dorm so she has nice new quarters and tons of orange getting ready for her first experience at a UT game as a student....can't wait for her to fill me in on her experience!
