Depends on one's tastes. Jay-Z's place, 40/40, is a quality place. It's a bit pricey. Probably not many Vol fans there, either. There are a million sports bars in Manhattan. The vast majority have more than enough TVs and good enough food. However, depending on your brother's work schedule, the thing to do is take the train from New York to DC and see the games live. The Acela line is rarely crowded, it's really a neat way to travel. I generally go to the football games, so I'm not in the city then. However, there's a bar that caters to UT alums and fans on gamedays. The name escapes me right now. I bet they would do the same for the NCAA tourney. The UT Alumni Association should have that information.(volinasheville @ Mar 18 said:Hat - do you know any good places in Manhattan to watch the tournament if we are in next weekend? My brother is a huge Vol fan and is working up there right now and staying through next weekend. Would like to watch with some other Vols.
I knew I had the information around here somewhere. The name of the bar is Blondie's. The address is 1770 Second Avenue, between 92nd and 93rd. The phone number is 212-410-3300. They have viewing parties for the football games. I would give them a call and see if they do the same thing for the hoops games.(volinasheville @ Mar 18 said:Hat - do you know any good places in Manhattan to watch the tournament if we are in next weekend?
