Something my pastor told me before the wife and I made vows over 20 years ago...My daughter’s wedding shower brunch is tomorrow, during which I will be imparting some marital wisdom to my future son in law over breakfast.
My nuggets of wisdom will include:
1. Listen to her to understand and relate, not to reply and fix.
2. Make your home a safe place where you can leave the stress of the world outside
3. Go with her even on small errands sometimes, you’ll be surprised at the conversations and fun you can have doing simple things
Anything else you guys want to add?

There is an easy solution to your quagmire (giggity), substitute the Basketvol exhibition and let the #7 flow freely. The problem with Bye week is that I can't celebrate the victory by downing copious amounts of Jack Daniel's.
The other problem with Bye week is that I can't drown my sorrows over the loss by downing copious amounts of Jack Daniel's.
23 years and 5 kids later, I will add...My daughter’s wedding shower brunch is tomorrow, during which I will be imparting some marital wisdom to my future son in law over breakfast.

I actually worked a couple of early hours before my afternoon wedding. I told a patient, in his late 70s, I was getting married that evening and his advice was classic: "Son, don't try to wear that thing out this weekend. I've been trying for 50 years and it just gets better......"
50+ years in myself and he was right.
My advice to him would be that it's not too late to back out, but you wouldn't want that for your daughter. My daughter’s wedding shower brunch is tomorrow, during which I will be imparting some marital wisdom to my future son in law over breakfast.
