I like this guy. He wont be at Vandy long. He's a good/intense coach who is getting way more out of his team than anyone ever should.

Say what you want. But if he's the coach of your team you'd love him. He's smart, he's firey, and he's passionate. The only problem is that he coaches for the other team.

Speak for yourself. UGA has a very classy coach and you all wanted to run him out of town after 2 games this year. Not a fan of the running off of the mouth that Franklin does, not my type of coach. That type of behavior only works on a temporary basis, you cannot sustain.

People looking for something to ***** about. Where was he making excuses? He said he had to watch the film and check the rule book, but I'm sure most coaches do. I doubt any coach, including Dooley, has the entire rule book memorized. He complimented the officials for their explanations and came just short of proclaiming a mancrush on Da'Rick. It was a pretty typical post game presser, IMO.

His attitude on the field last night, after the game, was not very classy, but I don't see anything to hate on from this clip. Guy seems passionate about his job and turning Vandy around. Good for him. If he can pull that off then he's one hell of a coach. He'd have my respect. Doesn't mean I'd like him, but I would respect him. I can't stand Saban, but I respect the hell out of him.

I think Franklin is a used car salesman. He'll make a few good sales, but sooner or later he will move on to the next lot.

Why in the world would any coach want to leave Vandy?!?! Let's get real here. All coaches have a price.

Yea, like you knew that rule. Neither coach knew it. The refs had to confer about it. I'd bet not one person on this forum knew it. Including you.

If the guy didn't touch the ball he can't hit the kicker.

What makes you say neither coach knew about it? James Franklin pitched a fit, but he's a certified moron. Maybe you ignorant Georgia fans don't pay attention to anything, but most people who seriously watch football know the rule.

Does he sound any different than any other coach in that spot? Look at Spurrier, Fulmer, Dooley, etc. They all sound about the same. Wouldn't you be pissed if you blocked the FG and were called for roughing the K? I would be.

Sure it's coach's speak. Who cares, really?

If that wasn't a rule you could take out the kicker and then have another player "block" the kick

He's a punk. Just another in a long line of no class jerks, see Jerry Dinardo. He come from the NE trying to act like he's got street cred when he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Perfect fit for Vandy.

What the hell? If you don't block the kick you can't touch the kicker. Been that way for a while now. Where you been?

You can dislike Franklin all you want but I like the moxy he brings. That's something Vandy has never ever had, even with Cutler. The things I don't like are his temper tantrums and his indignant demeanor after the game.

The guy has confidence and the fact that we're still talking about him today speaks to the culture change he's already implemented there. I wish the guy well...except when he plays UT--ever.

So does 5 wins with moxy mean something more than any other season they didn't make a bowl game?

To Vanderbilt fans? Probably...I wouldn't know since I'm a UT fan.

Say what you want but he's done a pretty good job at polishing the terd he inherited.

...and before anyone says a thing...I'd take Dooley 8 days a week over Franklin.

Not sure that anything got polished if they lose to Wake Saturday.

Coach Richt annoyed me more than any other coach this year. The look on his face during the TN/GA game was perhaps the most offensive smirk I've ever seen on a man's face. Think smirk times ten...worse than Urban Myer's smirk, if that is possible.
