Frank Wilson to LSU?

not happening, F. Wilson is very very loyal to CEO, I can only see him leaving if CEO goes somewhere

Lance Thompson to FSU? that would be a bigger hit IMO.

Money talks but I don't see where Wilson would want to go to a program that has a shaky HC. It has been my impression of Miles that the LSU fans tolerate him but don't really like him. I also get the impression that the feeling may be mutual. Something about that job and him just don't fit. The longer he gets into his own recruits, the more glaring it is to me. Why would you want to move into that situation as an assistant coach right now?

Funny, I feel the exact same way with Miles and LSU. However, I don't throw out the possibility of Wilson moving on.

1. It's his backyard
2. LSU will surely offer a pay raise
3. He would coach RB's which is where he has coached before. This is his first time as a WR coach

Of course none of these things are deal breakers. This thing could go either way.

He has a 2 year contract which I am sure has a clause that he can only leave if he is offered a promotional position. He would still be an assistant coach. He could only leave UT if he were offered an OC position or something.

There's going to be LOTS of coaching shakeups as a result of the changes at ND, FSU & other places. Meanwhile, LSU, Michigan & other programs are unsettled with their head coaches. Lots of opportunities for good assistants. Meanwhile, CLK has it going full steam at Tennessee, so I don't see the Vol staff breaking up unless something unbelievable comes open. That being the case, UT remains a program on the rapid rise & a great opportunity for "young guns" to make their mark & learn from great coaches like Monte, Ogeron, Gran, etc.

Frank Wilson is the 9th lowest paid assistant coach in the SEC. I believe LSU would have to buy him out at half a years salary - peanuts. Money will not be an issue if LSU wants him. It would purely come down to Orgeron loyalty vs. going home.

I say pay the assistants the money. Up ticket prices to pay for it and let's keep rollin. I will gladly pay a little extra to keep good assistants and keep top recruits coming to knoxville. Whatever it takes. OH, and glad to be on another Vol board with ya'll.

I'd hate to lose Frank. I see him getting a raise if he stays. Any word on whether Gran is being considered? I haven't heard his name come up in a couple days.

If I remember correctly, these coaches are scheduled to make a pay raise this year. I didtinctly remember Monte getting a raise plus I am sure they get a bowl game bonus. I don't see anyone leaving for a lateral position but they may use it to get more money.

If LSU offered Wilson the recruiting coordinator position that Porter held, it paid about 315,000 this season which is a little more than double his current UT salary.

LSU boards dont seem to thrilled with the prospect of having hims, mostly based on unfounded rumors they have heard.

Looking more and more likely that Wilson may end up at LSU. LSU's rivals site has an article up that indicated conversations have already taken place between Miles and Wilson for the job.

It's almost a done deal. I just hope Orgeron can keep Anthony Johnson in the fold for next year.

I think we can get a better WR coach but his recruiting in LA is what's key.
