Gregg Doyel had a great column about this on CBSSportsline.com yesterday. Franchione should have been fired immediately upon the discovery of his little newsletter.

were it not for the fact that they are having a surpisingly decent season, I imagine that Miss State would consider Coach Fran if for no other reason than to irritate the Bammers a little.

were keeping fran win lose or suck...havent we proved that already. Thanks a bunch but no, fran stays because he's an aTm kinda guy. Everyone in College Station likes him because he's approachable and human. We all want to win, but we are not naive. aTm does not yet have the power of recruitment in Texas over OK, the sips, and for that matter SEC schools. But Vince Young graduated, Ok pays their players and the SEC is really busy beating the crap outta eachother. Fran stays. Read the quote from Stephen McGee in the Bryan Eagle.

Why would I ever read anything from a newspaper in Bryan, TX?

I don't care what Franchione does...he will always have a soft spot in my heart for the bitch slap of a diss he put on Bama when he left them for A&M.

For a second, everyone at Bama was forced to realize just how far their program had fallen off after that.

seriously though c'mon hat. Ive gone to bat for you in here before. Besides, the kid made it clear. The players are behind fran and the AD (Bill Byrne) is too. Fran stays for better or worse, till we beat the sips do we part.

The OU players went to bat for John Blake. That didn't mean he wasn't an incompetent goof who needed to be terminated.

Unbelievable. The fact that he wasn't fired on the spot speaks volumes about the desperation at A&M right now.

agreed, most kids will stand by their coach and franchione is well known as being a good guy. he should have been fired long ago though. no reason why A&M shouldn't be better.

Except in cities where he's previously coached and proven himself to be an oleagenous, self serving piece of trash.
yeah, i don't recall anyone at TCU or Bama throwing him a going away party. the guy is slimy, plain and simple.

and at this point, if the players at A&M are behind this guy, well, then they're just dumb. I know if someone i comitted 4 years of my life to was selling info on me for profit, i'd be pissed off and wondering why i wouldn't be allowed a transfer with no sit out penalty.

and to future recruits, anyone that is considering A&M, trust me, their parents will get an earfull of this story.

and at that point when the kids that could start for a&m start going to OU and TX to ride the bench......his job will take care of itself.

couldn't happen to a nicer guy as far as i'm concerned.

and one more thing, if the AD hasn't/doesn't throw him out on his keaster, then he's proving to be spineless as well.

and for the reasons stated above, when a&m continues to suck, he'll also find himself on the chopping block.

and God forbid if he broke any patient confidentiality laws. i can't even get any info on my wife at the doctor's office, much less a player at a&M.

I am sitting at my desk listening to some blow hard Aggie grad explain to someone else how it is "not really a big deal"

I knew it was just a matter of time. I'm actually surprised it took this long for him to get caught screwing up at A&M.
