Anyone know? 6 weeks without ligament damage? Maybe Sutton comes back this year if we win the East?

I think he makes it back in time for SEC championship. But can we make it there without him? I dont know. Not even sure we make it there with him.

Dez Bryant came back from broken bone in his foot last year in 5 weeks but who knows if it's same bone or not. Also Dez was not nearly the same Dez as before the injury.

Sutton is pretty much done for the year. Really feel for the kid. He came back to win a title because he loves this university and now his draft stock is going to suffer because of it.

Sutton's draft stock may not be hurt that bad. He's proven to be a solid CB, worthy of the NFL. This wasn't an ACL, it's pretty safe to assume a fairly quick 100% recovery unless I'm mistaken.

Definitely sucks for him but could have been worse.

I would say Sutton is done. I would not think he would risk reinjuring it.

Agree. Put a fork in his college career.

The Good News Is: We now have an excuse for why this team didn't perform like all those fans thought that had them as SEC and Nation Championship contenders.

Yea. this type of injury seems to be a death knoll for bigger athletes (see Yao Ming. I'm sure there are better examples), but smaller guys seem to be able to recover faster from small foot fractures.

Hate it for Cam, but he will be alright. He has the "IT" factor. Gonna succeed no matter what, when or where....

Fractured mine back in high school. Was out 7 weeks. I'd say UT players have access to better doctors than I did though so who knows.

Outside the joint (fibula)= avg. 6 weeks for bone healing
Intraarticular (tibia)= avg 8-12 weeks

Difficult to say specifically without xrays or more specifics but would expect 8 weeks minimum including therapy before he would be able to return.

Derwin James of FSU has the same injury and they said 5-7 weeks for him, so Cam should be back the last 2 weeks of the season depending on healing process......

At a certain point, he has to think about his future. He needs to rehab and be 100% for the draft if he plans on going. I suppose it does depend on the severity of the fracture and what was broken (I haven't seen so sorry if I'm behind), but I think he's done.

Fortunately for him, in the long run anyways, bones tend to heal stronger than before. If you're going to get an injury, it is better for it to be a bone than a ligament.

His injury depends on which bone is fractured and the direction of fracture and the amount of displacement. Bone repair takes a min of three months to reach full strength. I doubt they would risk playing him again this year unless the fracture is minor which apparently it is not according to statements.

Broke mine in HS playing bball and was casted for 3 weeks. Orthopedic said it wasn't a bad break and 3 weeks was enough time. To this day I can step on a piece of gravel and my m ankle rolls out. Doc's (mis)assessment has messed me up for the last 16 years. I personally wouldn't chance it.
