Foxsports Predicts a UCLA Upset?!

WOWWWW! Not only did they pick UCLA over our Tennessee, but Houston, yes Houston, OVER #5 Oklahoma State!!!! UGA honestly got dominated in many facets last Saturday and there is no way Houston is even close to Georgia's talent level! That, coupled with the mere thought of an UCLA upset, deems Foxsports straight ignorant!

Houston's got a pretty good team this year. Although I would be surprised if it were to happen, it wouldn't really be a complete shock if it actually went down as such.

How will humility help a fanbase? This level of ignorant arrogance you mention isn't anywhere close to the way you couch it. It's fans being fans. Sure, we have our contingent of absolute idiots, but everyone else does too. How is humility going to address that?

The excitement here isn't remotely about beating WKU. It's about a clear departure from the sorriness that was the Fulmer regime. It's about an attitude of toughness. It's about a new approach to football and player accountability. It's about building for the future. It's about being better prepared. It's about knowing the team has done what it should over the course of the week. It's about progress.

Hell, if it's humility in football conversations you're after, Army and Vandy have boards as well. I think you might find that you're disappointed by those conversations.
If UT's performance against WKU is your barometer that the program is moving in the right direction, then have at it. For me, none of the stories and comments about practice, work ethic, etc. mean anything until a season or two have passed, other than the fact that Fulmer and Co. had a different technique than do the Kiffins. I will wait to see more of a body of work to make the call on which is better.

Why does everyone here think that UT is some powerhouse simply for laying it on WKU???

UCLA most definitely has the potential to play UT close and even, gasp, beat UT in front of one of the largest, yet least hostile, crowds in college football. UT has not exactly dominated at home in the way that LSU and Florida have. A big crowd does not always lead to instant intimidation, see Michigan.

I look forward to the reaction in this forum when the Vols finally lose a game under Kiffin, either this week or next week.
we are Vol Fans On a Tennessee message board ...what the heck was we thinking not putting faith in the team we as Tennessee Fans Love! You are a Tool to come post that garbage. We have faith in our team, and I don't think anyone said Tennessee will go undefeated!

Bad night last evening....had a dream that UCLA jumped to a 14-0 lead early. Poor tackling in the secondary.....then I woke up.

Go Vols, 38-17 win!

.... Its the only gave we have played.. so of course WKU is our barometer for now.. tommorow our barometer will be UCLA. If we beat florida our barometer will be florida, and so on. If we lose to Florida by 7 with this team we are still going to have a positive look at our team.

I did not mince my words. I look forward to reading this forum when most of the posters have come down from the clouds. Realistically, the UCLA game is a toss up. Florida should be a loss. It is one thing to be hopeful, it is another thing to display the sort of ignorant arrogance that is being flaunted in the football forum, and has been for the past week. Humility will do the UT fanbase a lot of good.

When Georgia crushed Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl, the national media fell in love with UGA and made them a National Championship contender the following year. These forums were filled with posts stating that it was Hawaii...what is the big deal? Well, now the UT fan base has tasted the Kool-Aid from beating WKU. Is there much of a difference? If and when we put the hurt on a team that actually matters, then I will eat crow.

If people (media) think UCLA is a test for us, they are sipping the Blue Kool-Aid. UCLA is a team run by goofs, they out-coached Phil's staff, whoopty doo. No way this is as close as "the experts" think.

Anyone who brings up UCLA's win over us last year is a fool. Anyone who thinks this is the same team needs to see the performance of JC vs Wyoming, then look at last week. Forget the numbers, look at the little things like looking off receivers and the body language.

That is all.

I'm looking forward to the Vols getting the "W".

I suppose by the end of the day, someone's not gonna have what they were looking forward to.

Look, even I predicted the home crowd factor would be the difference in a close one with UT taking it....but the thing of it is, I at least respected our opponent. I don't value being a mouthy cocksure fan in victory more than I disdain looking like a complete idiot in failure.

therealUT...you are a credit to college football fans in general....
