Fox Sports:Peyton The Worst QB to Start a SuperBowl

Statistically, it's atrocious.

But Manning will always be one of the greatest, regardless of what happens anymore. I think deserves massive respect for being 39 and playing in the big game.

Well then Brady has to feel like dog crap because the world's worst QB sent him packing last week. Poor Tom.

Didn't take the time to read the garbage because it doesn't take a rocket surgeon (sic) to see where this guy is going. Reporter trying to get attention with an off-the-wall angle. Nothing else to see folks.

That's funny. Because of Peyton Manning the Panthers defense will need to improve their performance and come up with a new game plan. If they run the same defense that got them there he will shred them to pieces. They have to come up with a whole new game play, and disguise what they are doing.

All I'm saying if Peyton Manning knows what you are doing on defense, his offense will score TDs.

How quickly we forget Vince Ferragamo. :)

I believe the article mentions him as statistically worse than Manning but he only started 5-6 games that season.

Dumb article trying to produce an angle.

All I'm saying if the GOAT knows what you are doing on defense, your toast.

Huh?

Fox reporters apparenly didn't read and learn from the espn article which clearly spells out why you should NEVER understimate the GOAT:

The thing about late-career Peyton, though, is that he's full of surprises. Nobody expected him to sit out the 2011 season until it actually happened. Nobody expected Manning to follow a slow start to his Broncos career with another mini peak, including one of the best seasons of quarterback play in league history at the ripe old age of 37. Nobody expected him to fall off the cliff so quickly, having struggled toward the end of 2014 before collapsing during an ugly first half this season. Nobody expected Manning to come back in Week 17 and lead the Broncos to a victory. And more than anything, nobody expected Manning to help guide Denver to the Super Bowl with wins over Brady and Ben Roethlisberger.

And now, given how dominant the Carolina defense has looked this postseason and how wonderful Cam Newton has been at quarterback, nobody expects Manning to pull off one last hurrah and ride off into the sunset with his second Super Bowl ring. But all the way back in 1998, nobody in their right mind would have also expected Peyton Manning to be playing quarterback in 2015. So why should we suddenly take that outcome for granted now?

And here is the whole article - if there ever was an article explaining the genius that is Peyton Manning this is it.

The influence of Peyton Manning can be seen in how numbers changed since he arrived - NFL

An important distinction that the author fails to mention (on purpose for click bait obviously) is that, Peyton had the worst STATISTIC SEASON of any Super Bowl QB. Does not mean he's the worst QB to ever play in a Super Bowl.

Love Peyton, but Denver's defense overcame his performance in that game.

Peyton audiblized the majority of the plays - not the defense. Peyton threw the ball into the endzone twice - not the defense. Peyton helped sustain critical drives without the defense. Peyton with all his ailments ran the ball without the defense. Peyton and his offense outplayed the New England defense.

The Denver defense did their job and so did the Denver offense. If they both do that again, the Broncos could be hoisting another banner.
