Fowler Called Out For Being A Jerk Again

Burt Reynolds almost whooped his ass then he got this false since of reality he was somebody important. The funniest thing I remember is that game between ND and USC a few years ago, there was like a 3rd and 20 and one of the teams completed a 10 yard pass and he got wayyy too excited and called it a first down. He isn’t fooling anyone other than ESPN for them to continuing to keep him employed.

Even Herbie was screwing up names.

I just feel like if you get paid big $$$ to do this every week, it's a huge honor and privilege, and you should KNOW the teams well. Know the player names. Know who plays at what position.

These guys eventually get so famous. stop caring, and get very sloppy. It's not that different from teachers who have tenure and quit caring years ago, except these guys make millions. Feel like if you make that much money, it's inexcusable.
I think Herbie is stretched too thin nowadays. He does Amazon Thursday Night Football for NFL, then College Gameday, then has to fly from Oregon to Gainesville for our game on the same day. I think he also does a podcast. He’s involved in a lot of things and I’m sure it is too much to handle. I’m just waiting on the day for there to be some kind of transportation delay that prevents him from getting to the prime time game and they either have to have a fill-in or let Fowler crash and burn on his own.

Florida did have had 20 scholarship players out with injury, and they are a whipped bunch, that's fair to point out whether Zach Ragan likes it or not. Nonetheless UT beat them exactly like you should beat a team like that. Not UT's fault that UF has a bunch of quitters on their team. Heupel was probably too merciful to them, we should have done what Kirby did to Florida State in the Orange Bowl a few years ago.
Yep.

Florida fans, that I personally know, never made excuses for Tennessee all those times they beat us up when we were the in same or worse shape. Tennessee fans love making those excuses for other teams we beat, but will have none of that when we lose. Lol.

He has certainly changes his tune about Tennessee since moving to Nashville. The reason is more than likely for self preservation 🤣
Herbie moved him and his family back to Ohio, so I don't think that's it. I've never had an issue with him. He's fairly straight down the middle unless its Ohio St. And he did an ok job when we played them last year considering they took us out to the woodshed.

I am generally consistent before and after the game. I posted a comment of mine above from last week talking about how beat up UF was. I have spent the last couple of weeks telling folks who want to fire Heupel that they are stupid. Florida was beat up and deflated coming into this game, but we beat them like we should have. Both things are true, even if Heupel may have had more class in the situation than I would have. Lol.

I agree, Herbie is probably the lesser of the evils in respect to a lot of the announcers

Fowler isn't even the worst of the anti-Tenn biased personalities on that network. There are definitely a few.
Good Lord, ESPN does NOT hate us, nor are they biased against TN. Just something our fans say when they can't think of anything else. Y'all really worry way too much about what people think or say. Gotta toughen up and quit being so damn soft. Believe it or not, NOBODY is out to get us! 🙄🙄

Thats the thing though, I agree alot of the times with things like wanting to beat them and disappointed we didnt beat them by fiddy. I just won’t constantly whine about it. Thats pure emotions. Cant post emotions here. Why? Glad you ask.

Dude posts some BS and someone calls him a negavol. Dude says "can't say anything without a pumper jumping my chit, Im just blowing off steam like I would with my friends during a game".

I tell dude to Stfu. Because as a friend that's what I'd say to him irl.

Dude gets pissy and mad then calls me a coach loving softy that settles for mediocrity. Lol. Like he's somehow figured out how to change everything other than in his own little head.

All emotions. See how many things wrong with that?

Good news is I imagine all anonymous message boards are the same.

I wasn't talking to you. And I'm not worried about anything. You have no idea what you're even saying. Just because I say there are some there with bias doesn't mean I'm worried about it. Heather Dinnich is one of them. Some of y'all like to comment on things you don't even understand. See how that works? I could do the same thing. Your comment in response to me was epically inaccurate. I could give two ***** what people at ESPN think. Just commenting on the subject thread.

Man, you are one of the posters I like the best, we good.

P.S. When I was younger I used to run the whole gambit of emotions but at some point during the reign of Dooley-Butch-Pruitt I sort of started trying to stay as grounded as possible, kind of as a defense mechanism. I think it was 2016 and the collapse after beating Georgia and Florida that flipped the switch for me, where I said, you know what, I am not going to ride this roller coaster anymore, to the greatest extent possible, I am going to look at Vol football like I do my work and try and honestly take stock of the strengths and weaknesses like I would a case. I try to do that as much as I can but I still ride the roller coaster during games. I am also immensely grateful for Heupel making us a factor again. Sure, it's not all we want, exactly when we want it, but it's a hell of alot more fun. GBO.

The tweet I saw from before the game actually said 20% of their scholarship players, not 20. Here is my post about it from THURSDAY, which I posted due to other posters quaking in their boots about big bad Florida, so I'm saying the same thing after the game that I said before the game.

At game time, on that right side list only Thornton wasn't cleared to play. Of the 12 on the left side, about half are in the 2-deep. Not calling you out, but rather pointing out.

I just posted that to show you where I got the number from, though I misremembered 20 percent as 20 players, and to point out my view had not changed. I felt really good about the game, despite the history because they were banged up and are kind of a miserable lot at this point. I don't follow UF football the most but both those Wilson wide receivers and LJ McCray are people we'd jump on if they went in the Portal, probably some others too. We showed up and took care of business, it wasn't a Spurrier or Meyer team, but we beat them like we should have, it hasn't always been that way. I will also point out that, I don't know whether we planned it this way or if it's just the way it fell, but switching Georgia to September and Florida to November worked out well. We had a much better crack at UGA this year early before they got rolling and this game against UF was alot easier than it would have been in September.

I watched the rerun last night. There was absolutely no bias against us. If anything, it was slanted towards us

the part that ticked me off was when Fowler said he missed Florida being a good team, and couldn't wait for them to get back. They never said that about UT and we have been down longer, and worse than this UF team.
Herbstreit is the one that said it and they fawned all over us in the first half. We've been back since 22. Geez, that is a silly, sensitive take

Give it a rest, dude!

We won in the Swamp for the first time in 22 years in what was effectively a blow-out. All you've done is make disparaging negaVol posts about he we didn't score more. Yes, we could have easily run up the score. We didn't, because we were dominating the Gators so much we could just run out the clock.
DidertosGhost -

I always like your posts - informed, logical and rational. As a Vols fan since age 11, I think it might have to do with history a bit.

There has been so must frustration from UT fans in UF games. A small part of the sample includes: UT coaches forget how to coach, "non-catch catch" for a game ending TD at Knoxville, Hail-Mary pass for a game ending TD in the swamp, massive comeback by UF in the second half in one of Peyton's years, Spurrier pre-game sticking sticking it to all things Vols for years, Spurrier calling Manning the 2nd best college QB after D Wherffel, etc.) When we finally get a chance to play UF in Nov and actually have a good team/coach, some are salivating to hang 60 on them like UF would do to UT...... IN A HEARTBEAT (UF scored 47 in '18; 59 in '07; 62 in '95) . You may be a long-time fan as well, but I'm just speaking for the 60+ guys. I appreciate the beat down on Saturday in the first half. Just wanted to see a repeat in the second. I still remember the 1990 game - Vols won in Knoxville 45-3. That was 35 years ago and a still a game for the ages. I guess in a nutshell, with UF, it's personal.
