Who are the 4 coaches that Lane has kept on for consideration of future employment with UT? He said it several times during the interview, and I haven't found any info anywhere. I hear the defensive staff is gone, so you've got to be kidding me if he kept Clawson.

The advantage of keeping Drayton is getting Giles. I see that one. But who else was worth keeping? The WR/TE corps sucked this year. The OL sucked. The RB's as a group sucked, individually a couple were still decent. So why'd we dismiss the defensive guys and not the offensive guys?

Sorry for the double post, but that pisses me off!!! Keep Drayton, drop the others. How does he not know his direction offensively? Being the OC at USC, I would bet that he has a better handle on that than he does defense. I am officially a little worried about this guy.

one coach>>>>>>>one player. We should not keep Drayton just to get Giles.

I agree, I'm just saying that I understand Kiffin's logic.

Off topic for a moment...are you gonna request a name-change, chavisut? I'd say it's a warranted request. Unless of course your name is Chavis, then it would make sense to keep it.

How the hell Adkins is still around literally defies logic.

Presumably Kiffin just hasn't actually seen any UT game film yet, and doesn't yet realize how completely our OL has sucked out loud for years. Adkins is just a name to him so far, not a failure.

they are only being retained temporarily...

Kiffin has said that he will interview all 4 for positions but I doubt he keeps all 4 (if any)

Am sure he did this on recommendation of someone outside but close to the program. Only think I think of is do these guys have a good recruiting history?

Let's hope CLK finds a replacement for Adkins. I am not that keen on keeping Drayton much either but our OL has been poor for several years despite having a lot of experience. Especially in the run blocking.

I dont think they will be around for long. Kiffin just hasnt found a replacement for them yet. I think right now the guys he is keeping are mainly for recruiting purposes. I would hope adkins would be replaced at least.

The running game sucked, and kiffin may keep the RB coach? Are you serious????

For the moment anyway... Honestly, from what I've seen I can't imagine why Kiffin would keep ANY of these guys around.

I think that he should clear house on the offensive side. The offense this year was terrible. I know hes bringing in his brother in law David Reaves who coached at SC. All I know is that Kiffin has the money to hire a awesome staff

The running game wasnt great but I think it might have had alot to do with the fact that or OL was so bad.

I found this on USC forums, sorry I don't know how to link.

Former USC offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo, now the assistant offensive line coach with the New York Giants, has been contacted by USC and Tennessee regarding their offensive line positions according to sources.

Lane Kiffin, or a member of his inner circle, contacted DeGuglielmo last week according to a source.

Freak, I messed up an pasted this before I read thats a no no. Im sorry.

104.5 in Nashville had Brent Hubbs on this AM. Caller asked who would be retained from the form staff...Hubbs said he see's one, possibly two (unlikely though) being retained--possibly Drayton and/or Latrell Scott, who are both on recruiting trips with Kiffin at the moment.

FWIW.
