I'm sorry I didn't know Bush was who he compared. No one has been worse than that. 8 years of damage we are still trying to fix.

I forgot how Bush forced all of those homeowners into buying more than they could afford. Obviously Bush masterminded the 2000 stock market crash (while Clinton was in office)which in its aftermath fueled the housing boom that so many enjoyed for a six year stretch. I forgot 9/11 was his fault; obviously Clinton had nothing to do with it even after the WTC bombing of 93 or when he half-assed attempted to get Bin Laden in 99 with some tomahawks. I forgot how Obama stopped national spending from going over 100% of GDP for the first time since WW2 and didn't outspend Bush in less than 4 years. Obama freed the gays, gave 15% of the population access to health insurance that they will actually never get, and finally gave women the right to vote and have equal pay! How could I have thought he was the worst!?! :eek:lol:

What do you think is easier, fixing a football program that was left in chaos or the best country in the world?

fixing a broken football program is harder than fixing the best country in the world. If this were truly the best country in the world (objectively), what's there to fix? However, by any objective measure this country is not the "best" in the world, so clearly fixing our country is a much, much, much taller order.

Name one. YOu nkow, Barbara said that DD would be here 25 years. So all you complainers get on board or go cheer for Bammer!!

"Second, we've got the endorsement of coaches. Nick Saban and Will Muchsamp both have said he is doing a good job. these guys are runing top 5 teams!" Right, because they are just going to come right out and say "Yeah, that Dooley...he's retarded. Can"t coach a lick."

"Sal is a Saban guy and look what Saban did in year 2... 10-2 record."

Sal was a linebacker coach. Not saying he had NOTHING to do with the overall defense and the 10-2 record....but come on.

And just so you know, I am on board. I have supported my team through every thing and will continue to do so. I will also complain about the short comings of this team as much as I damn well please.

Feel free to move. Plenty of people outside the country that would love to take yoru spot.

Pretty sure Rivals ranks teams by talent and since Bama was #1 when we played them must have the most talent.

We have more talent than state, and I think if coached properly we should've beaten South Carolina as were on par with them talent wise (obviously not apples to apples as they are more defensive were more offensive).

So Barack Obama just got reelected. The country is in terrible shape, but we decided to give him another four years to try to fix it. But here yall are calling for Derek Dooley to be fired and year 2 (yeah, 2010 was year 0) isn't even over yet! What do you think is easier, fixing a football program that was left in chaos or the best country in the world? Dooley deserves more time and I'm here to tell you why.

First off, recruiting. We have done really well in Georgia, the state that a lot of our players in the 90s come from. We just got a really solid under the rader guy yesterday that will help us out immedieately. And everybody remembers when we snagged a five star stud WR right out of Mark Richts hands. Plus we got Brian Randolph and AJ Johnson. The roster in general is way better, especially on the DLine. We also got a bunch of DBs so we'll be ok when PWagg graduates.

Second, we've got the endorsement of coaches. Nick Saban and Will Muchsamp both have said he is doing a good job. these guys are runing top 5 teams! You think we know more about football than they do? Dooley is doing fine, and these guys know it. big time reults will come soon, just wait til our bowl game! Saban knows it takes time. Look at John Wooden at UCLA. He couldn't win achmapionship for over ten years, then he won seven in a row!

Next is the players. they clearly love him and are fired up to play for him. Look how he's gotten Bray to start getting excited and fired up on the field. he's come a long ways since that california cool stuff hwen he was a freshman. And the guys have a lot of character now. No Kiffin thugs like Da'rick!

The offense has gotten better every year and is one of the best in the country this year. we got the wild pig formation which has a passing td against one of the best defenses in the nation. think about what chaney can do with that once he gets another year to get everything perfect. Revolutionizing Vol offense!

The defense is struggling. I admit that. But it's year one with a new DC and a new system! You can't xpect it to be perfect right a way. Things will get a lot better in year 2. Sal is a Saban guy and look what Saban did in year 2... 10-2 record. let that sink in. even with the defense taking a step bakc, we are probbly going to go 7-5, which is 2 gmes improvement. if you include moral victories we are 10-2. Pretty soon these moral victoryes will be actual wins.

Tradition. what's more important thatn tradition in Tennessee? vol navy, pride of the southland, running through the T, Rocky Top maxims, orange... it's evrything. Dooley respects those traditions (unlike the last guy!) Dooley is a VFL and it shows. He's got the pants, he's got the background, and he's the man that came to save back in 2010 when we needed it most. You nkow who could have taken the job but didn't? everyon'es favorite replacement Jon Gruden. So now Gruden wants to come in and win with a bunch of Dooley's players? How is that VFL? And if Gruden came, what's stopping him from leaving again? he already did once, and that was for SW MIssouri St! Dooley did the dirty work to get us back to the top becasue he bleeds orange. Now we need to let him enjoy his successes.

Plus, the man is on crutches. he is going through enough. Let him get back on his feet and coach the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Then we can talk. The Vols will be back and Derek Dooley will get us there!!!!!!!!!!!11

GBO!

Oh my. You remind me of the "Leave Brittany Alone" guy (or girl, I'm not really sure).

It's times like this when I wish I were a VN moderator and had the power to delete/remove posts. Literally half this thread is about Obama/Bush/politics. Including the original post, which, by the way, is a joke.

Last I checked this is the FOOTBALL section of VolNation. There is a separate section on this site designated for politics. It can be found here: Politics - VolNation

I agree. This thread should be canned. Way too many people posting their political ignorance.

You think if Gruden says no they'll give Dooley a raise since that money is just lying around:? Lol. Dooley wont' be going noewhere after our bowl win gets us to 8-5.

It won't be 8-5. Vandy hammers us this year, it's Franklin's super bowl.
