Do they mean a first rounder in the 2009 draft? That is not beyond the realm of possibility.

I think if Arian can rush for 1,000+ yards this coming season he will greatly improve his draft stock. I am of the opinion that regardless of how good of a RB he may be at UT, people won't be able to look past his "slowness" in comparison to some of the other backs despite his ability to catch the ball and block. I just feel like 1,000 is sort of that magic number for the scouts, especially if he's able to slash a few marquee teams like UF or Georgia.

Well considering Arian has 6 TDs in two starts against UGA, Willie Martinez probably has nightmares about #27

No doubt! I have a feeling Martinez has nightmares about Tennessee in general though.

Sport Talk in Chattanooga reported that Foster will be staying with the Vols for his senior year.

No rankings matter right now. Those lists will change dramatically after the combine, when actual team scout's opinions become known.

He could easily be a first rounder in 2009, IMO. He seems to already have the size, and vastly improved over the past year and that improvement will continue.

he has alot to gain by staying and I just cant see an NFL team drafting him in the firt two rounds. If he goes I hope it does happen, but I just cant see it.

I don't see it happening this year.

Another year under his belt and another 1,200 yard rushing season in the SEC?

It's a definite possibility.

He'll be under the radar in the SEC just because Moreno is espn's new loverboy.

But with the guys that are already coming out, I don't see Foster going before the 4th round if he comes out in this draft. Only way he goes in the first round is if some NFL GM loses his head.

He was projected at 2nd round for this draft.

The link he posted in this thread is for 2009 though. Is it that hard to read?

Is there anyway that the coaches can work on his speed???? It seems like he is running in water. I've never in my life noticed a back being glaringly slow like I do Foster. His legs just won't turn any faster. When Hardesty gets in there, it looks like a whole different game. Against Wisconsin, I remember a play where Foster had the ball about 8 or 10 yards past the line of scrimmage and it looked as if he was going to take it to the house and he just couldn't pull away from anyone. I remember thinking, if that would have been anyone else with the ball, they would have gained 50 yds and scored a td.Foster is great at short runs and making people miss to get those 4 and 5 yarders but we have to capitalize on a big play every now and then when the line blows open a hole the size of Texas. Foster never seems to take these plays more than 8 or 10 yards. We need someone who will blow through and outrun defenders to the endzone. Creer and Hardesty show signs that they might be able to do just that. I'm not taking anything away from Foster, it just seems that his lack of speed won't allow him to make the big play and give a spark to our offense.

you may think that but the numbers just don't support it

Exactly, and until Hardesty can make it thru a 2 or 3 game stretch without hurting something, talking about what he can a can't do is meaningless.

Did you watch the Arkansas game?
