Before that game, I used to get frustrated with the Neyland Stadium crowd...like crowds in Michigan's Big House, they would sit there until something good happened...they were not supportive enough of the Vols.
The Auburn game, in my opinion, broke away from the silent Neyland crowds. It was the first game in a long time that we were playing a No. 1 team, and we actually had a chance to win.
How did I know the crowd was ready for that game? There were 100,000+ fans who booed the Auburn band as they came on the field.
The crowd was ready. The players were ready. Great game!
