It's easy to take shots and disrespect someone you don't know. Chris is a fine young man from an outstanding family. Obviously, he did not meet the fan's expectations but most important, he did not meet his expectations for whatever reason. VN should cut him some slack and wish him well. This, he deserves.

He was a man among boys in high school, some of them just can't make the switch to play at a higher level.

From everything I've heard, he sounds like a good guy. Unfortunately for him and the program he is kind of exhibit A of the final stages of decline of the Fulmer era.

I was just wondering about him the other day, I was so excited when we landed him. Best of luck to him. Some have it, others do not. Not his fault.

:good!:He made 2nd team all Southern Conference. I believe he was too small to play defensive end at 225 to 230. He had surgery on both wrists and they are not healing as they should and he hung it up...smart. I understand he is a good kid and gave it his all. He was a little over rated for the SEC and was good in the Southern Conference. I wouldn't be too quick to criticize him....most of you do that out of low self esteem....bet most of you can hardly get off the couch.

I love how these threads devolve into over-sensitive *****ing about how we're making fun of the player because he didn't measure up to our standards. I don't think Chris Donald is a horrible person, he is just a less than average football player. If you are a highly touted recruit then you are putting yourself out there for criticism.

Everyone had him ranked highly based on his high school career and camps that he attended.

I think it's more difficult to say that multiple people with years of experience scouting (coaches AND recruiting services) were all wrong, rather than just say Chris Donald never lived up to what was expected of him on the field. He wasn't the hardest worker or quickest learner according to MULTIPLE coaching staffs here.

We should've known. 5* football players from TN are almost always over-rated. Even Patrick Turner was over-rated. Same so far for Marlin Brown.

Sounds like evaluators are consistently getting it wrong.

Find me a coach quoted as saying CD was lazy and had a low football IQ.

You probably won't find it quoted anywhere. Most coaches aren't going to say that publicly. 90% of what you read on message boards can't be quoted. Rumors and hear-say.

But I do think Kiffin may have referenced that Donald had trouble with coverages and picking up schemes. So I believe you could find some quotes like that...
