Former players post ad supporting Fulmer

This letter is nothing more than fodder for other SEC teams to point to as evidence that our fan base is growing more like UAT and UAF every year.

It's sad that a small contingent of miscontents can stir the pot during the season. I'm all for people speaking their mind - but timing is everything. The "Fire-Fulmer" minority just look plain silly right now. Being the squeaky wheel during the season does not help the team.

how quickly they forget. are you honestly trying to sell this load of garbage? the fire fulmer crowd looks silly now? have you forgotten that we were run out of the stadium by Florida, Cal, and Alabama? not close losses mind you, but full-fledged beat downs. You are not "all for people speaking their minds", if you were you wouldnt put conditions on it. The fact remains that everyone that pointed the finger at the head coach is certainly justified.

Florida, Alabama, or Cal would love to be in the drivers seat of their conference. But they are not. Get over the loses already. The margin of defeat in the game is completely irrelevant at this point.

And just because I support people speaking their mind doesn't mean I support what they say.

the day that Fulmer does something worthy of my backing off from asking for a replacement, I'll be the happiest guy in the world admitting I'm wrong and asking him to stay.

get over the losses? you act as though they didnt happen. I hope you have the pleasure of meeting a Florida or Alabama fan, then you can explain to them how margin of victory doesnt matter. By the way, it matters to the BCS.

So the BCS would keep us out if we won the SEC champ? Learn something new everyday

Wanted HC for University of Tennessee.

Must be willing to compete against 3 or 4 HCs who have NC.

Expectations: Win the SECE every year and win the SECCG at min. every 3 years. This means you must beat UF, UGA, USC, UAT along with LSU, AU, UA every year. Winning 4 of 10 SECE is NOT acceptable.

Must win .770 of your games or be fired. (former HC fired for not doing better).

100 games over .500 or better expected. (see former HC record)

Must win min of 2 NC... (fired last coach because he had only one).

You care about our BCS ranking? Honestly, I don't. Number one goal every year is:

SEC title

Anything above that is icing and I don't hold my breath for.

Nope....the 2007 SEC Champ still has automatic bid.

Change begins after the 2008 season

Conference Automatic Qualification in Future

Mathematical standards of performance will be applied to determine the number of conferences whose champions will automatically qualify for a BCS game after the 2008 and 2009 regular seasons. The champions of no fewer than five conferences and no more than seven conferences will have annual automatic berths in the BCS bowl games.

The standards will be based on results from the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 regular seasons, using institutions that are members of the conferences during the 2007 season.

The data will include the following for each conference (1) the ranking of the highest-ranked team in the final BCS standings each year, (2) the final regular-season rankings of all conference teams in the computer rankings used by the BCS each year and (3) the number of teams in the top 25 of the final BCS standings each year.

Conference agreements with bowls will continue. The Pac-10 and Big Ten champions will host the Rose Bowl if their teams are not in the BCS national championship game. Likewise, the Southeastern Conference champion will host the Sugar Bowl, ACC champion will host the Orange Bowl and Big 12 champion will host the Fiesta Bowl.

ALL.......As much as I have dispised the man in the past...the answer is getting Spurrier.

He's sick of loosing at SC and would be willing to give up his membership @ Augusta National to come to a program that can win. TENNESSEE can win!, but not with Phil Fulmer anymore... he's done.

He can't recruit and he made a HUGE mistake in letting Trooper Taylor go and taking Dave Clawson (who shows he has no clue on what to do to win in BIG TIME college football, especially the SEC) Taylor could recruit, but was nothing to write home about.
TN overall is outclassed at every position. IT SHOWED BADLY YESTERDAY, except for Eric Berry (who'll jump to the NFL after this year)

Whether any of you will admit it or not, the last REAL recruiter and LANDER of D1-SEC caliber players was Randy Sanders, who Fulmer allowed to fall on the sword 4 years ago because he could not win. Even though Randy was the O-C, it was Fulmer that was calling the plays. Then he brings his suck a-- buddy Cutcliff back, who has now left him for Duke.

By the way... look how good KY's recruiting has been since RANDY got there!

As I said last night.... MIKE HAMILTON DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS?

THERE'S A LOT OF ALUMNI MONEY UP HERE IN MOTOWN AND WE'RE TIRED OF THIS SH-T!!

Spurrier would eat chit before he came to Knoxville, wouldn't happen

No to Spurrier! The last thing we need is him IMO. He is old and the game is passing him by. He laughed at us and made many comments about our great state. The state that he is also from. Please let him stay at SC and keep up the tradition of their program.

O+W was right. This situation is going to get far uglier than I originally anticipated. Word is that the add in the KNS was not initiated by CPF. Regardless it looks very desperate.

Should a treasured coach ever require such a letter of support?
NO. Shame on UT fans for making it that way.

I don't know how many former Vols would sign a letter supporting Fulmer this year.

On the other hand, he could probably get a ton of signatures from former Gators and Tigers.

That would be a fun ad to read.
