How do you know he is? He might, also, say in two years you done good with what you were given, do better still. Being a former cop and military retiree it is hard for me to not roll my eyes at anyone who has admitted heroin usage. I never even smoked a joint and barely drank more than a toast or two ( more like small sips) at a mandatory military social function. Guess I am still of the generation that believes you give most any HC 4 years unless he does something morally stupid like Petrino to get his guys in.
Round and round we go, LOL!
Only AD Hart knows what will or won't happen and when he stands before the press and says something then we'll all know and not before.
VFL...GBO!!!
Former Vols call for Dooley's departure
In Derek Dooley's three years as UT Football's head coach, he's never secured a win against a ranked team.
Most everyone agrees he inherited a tough situation, but some former Vol players say he's lost his shot to turn it around.
Former UT quarterback Erik Ainge and former UT wide receiver Jayson Swain both say Dooley should coach the season, but announce his departure soon.
"I think if there's a coach out there, a big name, home run coach that wants to take this job, I think you throw the check book at him," says Ainge. "This town needs it."
Opinions may differ on whether Dooley's had enough time to get UT football back on track. After all, Ainge points out it took South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier five years to build that program.
But he says there's a difference.
"In the mean time they won games they weren't supposed to win.," says Ainge. "[Derek Dooley] hasn't won one of those games."
Swain says for him, the Alabama game sealed the deal.
"Knowing the game was over but kicking the field goal it was kind of like he gave it up," says Swain. "I think a lot of people that were on the fence about Derek Dooley kind of went over the fence."
Swain says if Dooley leaves, it's important to announce it soon.
The sooner you do it, the longer you have time to be able to make a splash in recruiting," says Swain.
Ainge says as a former player he knows there are things more important than winning.
But to fans, and the to the university, that may not be the case.
" A Tennessee Football team that's not winning football games, there's a lot of money that's not being made in this town," says Ainge."
The stands at next week's home game against Troy may be a telling sign of how many fans share their sentiments.
You can hear more from Ainge and Swain on Tennessee Sports Radio.
Tune in to WBIR Sunday at 10 a.m. when Swain joins Steve Philips and the rest of the Sunday morning crew for the Sunday Sports Talk Show.
Odd that Dooley reportedly wanted to fire Cheney and he hired Sunseri. There's just no way to rationally defend him anymore. I understand those who just want to wrap themselves in the blanket of fandom and claim undying allegiance as long as Dooley's name is on the door to the head coach's office but he's done all for us that he can do. Time to cut the apron strings and find us a big boy coach.I am so surprised it is these two that say he should go. I am sure that someone that is in the news business would love to have some thing happen that is news worth so they can have something to report. No news does not sell or people won't tune in to listen to it! I do think evalutaiton of the defense should be done however the offense has been good enough to win a lot of games the 5 foes have won! Need some stops and we are rolling! Fans aren't patient, hope administors are at least patient and level headed. Stay or go it could mean a Tennessee program that is in the cellar for many years to come!

Couldn't have said it much better than Ainge does..
Ainge and Swain are both in the Sports talk business now and sorry to say that means the more controversy there is the bigger their ratings. Swain has far more cred than Ainge but neither are exactly free of bias, Controversy means more money for both of them even when they say things fans agree with.
Again, doesn't make their statements about Dooley any less true.
