It is being reported on another board that CDD has asked former players to leave practice including EB. Anyone know if this is true?
Here is the post:

EB: "Dooley has asked former players to leave... Reply
practice!" EB and Chris Scott were just on the radio discussing the fact that former football players from this past year have been asked to leave. Berry is pissed off about the whole situtation. Berry said his roommate texted him while he was in FL training and said Dooley asked him along with other players to leave practice. I don't know what kind of practice i guess passing league.
I think if this is true, Hamilton better step in right now. This is the kind of things that can tear a part a football team. This is the last thing that we need to happen.

Have also read from credible sources that EB was ticked off.

I wonder what the thought process was behind that decision! Seems very unusual to ask guys (in good standing) to leave practice. Interesting!

Berry has mentioned on the radio on a couple of different occasions that players have been asked to leave practice. Not something I agree with.

just had to make sure this wasn't limited to one board huh?

And where does it say EB was asked to leave? He probably has other stuff to do right now

I've not ever heard Berry say he was personally asked to leave, but it's clear he is irritated and/or confused about the situation. Whatever the case may be, it bothers him enough that he has brought it up on multiple occasions.

has either group ever given a reason? Can't be as simple as DD not wanting former players around the program

Don't want to burn that bridge so quickly. EB, and all other players, did a lot for UT.

Plus there are Two more Berrys out there for the taking!

isnt something like this that caused alot of rumbling at Nebraska with Callahan. Then Osborne had to mend some fences when he came back

Dooley misled everything he does after Saben. I live in bama and when Saben took over he did the same thing in his first spring. He wants to change everything the way he wants it. I think this is the same thing. Dooley don't need former players around asking why aren't y'all doing this and that. Once he gets things running his way then former players will be welcomed with open arms. The same way Saben did at bama. Let's just hope it works out the same.

The difference here is that Saban has more rings than Dooley has winning seasons as a head coach.

I liked it better when more information was available. DD must have his base camp in the NORAD complex.

really? Just like when we were on outside the lines every 15 minutes? I'm not saying Dooley is right or wrong. But it's his ass on the line and this is how he learned how to do the job. Let him be.

I would like to hear the reason(s) behind this. He should have taken the time to explain it to the former players. Now hammy will be wanting to know the why of it so he can explain it to all interested parties, beyond the former players.....

I think information can be available without being on outside the lines.

I fail to see what difference it makes. Perhaps CDD prefers a closed practice and doesn't care to have those not involved with the team around.

He isn't an idiot, and has some plan of what he wants and how to get there.

Sure this is how HE learned it... but come on, he learned this at LSU - a state that produces LOTS of D1 talent without another BCS conference school in it.... They didn't have to have publicity to get commitments....

At UT, on the other hand, we NEED national publicity to pull top talent from OTHER states...

Being on OTL every other day was NOT good for this program... but NEVER being on ESPN / ANY other sports media is probably even worse...

My feelings exactly. He was brought here to win games, and he's probably not going to have all that much of a leash to do it. Under those circumstances, he's entitled to do things his way, understanding the consequences if "his way" doesn't win games.

I was a lot more offended at the way Lane Kiffin embarrassed the program last off-season than I am that Derek Dooley might not want former players hanging around spring drills. We let Kiffin, who'd never had a winning season anywhere, do things his own way, and we sure as heck should do the same for Dooley, who at least has one to his credit.

is no Nick Saban this is just the start of a bad era. DD=Mike Shula lite with asolutely no history to back up his head coaching credentials. This guy is TROUBLE for our beloved program. Three to four tight end sets, total silence and if he doesn't have EB's backing with the players it's bad. I keep saying and you guys won't listen, have you ever heard a quieter bunch of 18 to 20 year olds about what is happening with the team? That to everyone but Koolaide drinkers says Dooley has a gag order in effect to blunt players voices. This is going to get ugly. Fire away but it is true.
