Spread not what Fulmer/Pruitt want. Clawson didn't work out too well the last time Fulmer went down that road.

Sounds better than than slow em down 60/40 run pass like this year. It doesn't win.

And before anyone says Bama they passed more than ran the first half. They run it when the passing game has already put them up.

Yeah and Tua was getting killed because they were pinning their ears back

They came back passing the ball though. Hurts 7-9 82 yards in a quarter and him and Tua with passing tds durung the come back. The other score was a scramble on a pass.

They also had a huge run by Jacobs. They abandoned the run and got back to it when the passing game wasn't working which made the defense play more balanced. If you're running the spread you have to play the numbers game regardless. Should really in any offense. But that said, a dominant running game will take you a lot further than a dominant passing game imo

Yes, if we want to play smashmouth, Drinkawhizzer ain't our guy.

But, I'm not sure we can attract enough talent to play smashmouth.
You have to recruit it to play it, Jones recruiting smaller players for a spread out finesse team. He coached like he was bringing something special from the MAC that was going to work in the SEC. And it failed miserably. We now have a coach that knows the body type it takes to win in the SEC. And yes we can attract enough talent to be a potent balanced attack. GBO!!!!

Yeah.. much rather our rb smash into the ass of our center on 3rd and 13.. the games a changin, sport..
What isn't changing sport, is that you better be tough in the trenches and be able to run the ball when needed. The speed on D is too fast for any offense to lean on one thing exclusively. And your not winning the SEC without having a big strong nasty defense.

I remember when the run and shoot was all the rage. You know what wins a lot of games? A mean azz defense, a great kicking game, an offense that can score 24/28 on a consistent basis. You don't have to throw it 70 times a game if you're strong in all phases of the game.

Not sure how we got on the subject of defense...

They could literally trot out and run the ole left, right, up the middle and I wouldn’t care as long as we won.

I’m absolutely tired of trying styles of offense we aren’t built for.

JP needs an OC that agrees with what he wants, or at least is able to run what he wants. It's JP's team. We don't need another Clawson episode.
