Former player bashes Kiffin

I'm not defending TC going to the reporter at all. I'm defending him that its not his responsibility to seek out his own(former) coach because his coach is a puss and afraid of confrontation.

No, it's his responsibility to do what the HC says and shut his mouth about it. This is stupid. If Dooley wants to change someone's number, does he have to go ask permission first? Of course not.

The bottomline is that the HC doesn't have to check with TC before he makes a decision. Who gives a crap what he thinks?

Nobody said the HC had to do anything. He obviously can do whatever he wants, but it doesn't make it right. It was disrespectful, classless and just plain wrong. If he wanted to give TC's jersey number to BB then at least tell him that is the decision you made. Don't leave him a note like a coward after you have already done it.

it's still no excuse to go all CJ Boleman and put it in the paper.

Also you're making a big assumption that Kiffin even knew who Campbell was and did this to him on purpose.

Yeah, we get it. Todd Campbell was not good. That has nothing to do with it. He had practiced, worked-out, and been through two years of two-a-days before Bryce Brown even stepped foot on campus. I guess that doesn't mean anything to some people including Lane Kiffin.

Its like you and I are the only ones who read the whole article before making brash comments. We're talking about one thing and these other guys immediately turned this into "TC isn't good so he lost all respect and isn't an equal to his own teammates, nether the less an 18 yr old freshman, so screw him!"

I don't think it requires a face to face meeting to change a jersey number. There are many other important tasks that a HC could be doing besides consoling a 10th string receiver about his number being changed.

he must take them to a nice restaurant for a steak dinner. Taking the number of any player who has been in the program 2+ years requires flowers also

Its like what Petrino did in Atlanta... take a job elsewhere during the season and tell your team via MEMO. classless

it's actually nothing like that. Kiffin did meet with his players in a pretty heated meeting before leaving

This has nothing to do with how good TC was. It has to do with treating another human being with respect.

well you didn't understand my post so there was nothing left to talk about.

My point is that this so angered TC that he waited months to discuss it and only to a reporter. If it really made him mad why didn't he go discuss it with his coach?

Oh, I understood. I understand that you expect Todd Campbell to be a man about the situation, but not Lane Kiffin.

TC is the only one who thought he was wronged in this situation

you're taking this way too seriously

It was a heated meeting because his players had already heard about it on ESPN instead of from their coach. Again, classless.

Some people on here are letting their hatred for Kiffin blind them on this issue.

It doesn't matter who the coach is. The coach doesn't ever owe an explanation to a player who NEVER plays.

Campbell got some sand in his vagina. That interview will likely be the last one he ever does. Nobody on here cared who he was until he left the team. IRRELEVANT!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? CAN YOU NOT READ ANYTHING IN CONTEXT? YOU'D THINK AMONG THOSE 25,000 POSTS YOU'D LEARN HOW TO READ SOMETHING IN CONTEXT. i said not one thing about how kiffin left UT. i was referring to making decisions and leaving notes to inform of the decision.

no you chose 2 different stories that are in no way similar and tried to tie them together

and that was Kiffin's fault?

I would say he shared some blame, yes. I know Dooley said he wanted to make sure he told his players at LA Tech before he did anything else, and that was very important to him. I'm sure there were rumors floating around in Louisiana too, but it didn't break on ESPN.
