This is as dumb of an argument as the ones comparing Dooleys first 3 years to Sabans first 3 years. Im going to throw right back at the CCM worshipers if you don't like it go cheer for bama blah blah blah

While I don't have a ton of faith in Hart yet, I think he played this very well. Next year we were going backward, so 1 in 4 NCAA's, the year after may have been a miss also. Hart would have had to make a move then. Now he can make that move one or two years sooner to his guy. He pulled a "here is more money and years but in a sum and total to protect UT." Which told CCM to shop around if you can. Now if he comes out cheap Then all that is out the window and I am wrong.

I expect Hart could see us falling to the bottom of the league wasn't gonna give a long term contract. If CCM has any confidence in his players and his program he would have taken the two year extension.

So it was a given that we were losing 4 out of 5 starters. With that dire situation CCM preceded to rack up a 49th nationally ranked recruiting class, 10th in the SEC.

And that was the AD's fault? Now, if you were referring to AD Mikey Hamilton you migh-...oh but you weren't.

Dumb thread is dumb.

This is Zo's 6th year coaching, in Tom Izzo's 6th year he had a national title and was just finishing up his 3rd consecutive final four. That's probably the worst analogy I've ever saw on this board.

Let's see Dave Hart got us Butch Jones (Don't care if he was 1st choice or 20th!)

He got Cheek to stop funneling money from athletics to academics.

He got him (at least we think) to back off some the academic standards he had or was wanting to put in place. Keeping us from getting players enrolled in school that could get into Bama, Florida, S. Carolina even Vandy?

A friend of mine who claims he's in the know says that Pearl is the guy Hart wants, but that when Martin took UT to the dance this year that Pearl didn't see UT letting him go and took the job at the barn. Now several weeks later UT gave Martin a extension but not the deal Martin wanted so he started shoppin around and come back demanding more and UT wouldn't give. So here we are now coach less and he says that they are tryin to figure out how to get Pearl outta Alabama (the state) and not hurt the budget any more than need be. So like I said this is hear say I have no links or facts to put behind what I was told.

If a conservative estimate of the Vol fanbase is 3 million and 30,000+ signed a petition that is 1%. So his approval was ~99% rating. You are offered a ~40% pay increase and contract extension and you feel insulted? I wish I had that kind of insults thrown at me.

My issue was primarily with the AD before Hart (Fulmer has great comments about that time period). But yes, by all means, let's be a program the clearly is impatient and quick to fire. What could possibly go wrong?
