Is it just me or does it seem like we've had a young team for the last 5 years or more. Do older players not pan out and quit or transfer? Seems like announcers are always saying we have a young team and need to mature!

Just another perpetual excuse, used after the previous excuse has run its course, and outlived its usefulness.

It’ll cycle through until all excuses have been exhausted and the coach is eventually fired.

If we fire Pruitt this year or next, the cupboard will be much better stocked than it was when he took over. He is playing a ton of young guys because they are better than the options Butch left. In a few cases, the line for example, was completely depleted when he came. Most folks apparently don't realize how bad the roster was when Butch left.

Butch signed guys but got on campus, figured he was an idiot and bolted. Pruitt retired about a half dozen and ran a few off. But yes we have been perpetually young for a LONG time

We had a veteran team in 2016 that underachieved.

It's a coaching excuse scam. They sign 25 each year, but normal class attrition from medical issues, transfers, and suspensions reduces that number by ~ 5 every year. So, you always have *roughly* 25 first year, 20 second year, 15 third year, 10 fourth year, and 5 fifth year guys. Therefore, each year, over half your team is always made up of true freshman, redshirt freshman, or sophomores. Perpetual youth. Perpetual excuses.

Yea the days of 40 & 50 year old guys playing in college are over I think. It’s a young mans game now days.
