From Jamie Newberg's Blog:

Jernigan was also considering visiting Tennessee, but after the Volunteers' strength and conditioning coach left Knoxville for Austin, Tennessee appears to be out of the hunt for an official visit.

If he used that as a reason, he probably would go elsewhere anyway. Love to have him, but wtf.

Newburg probably has an agenda and is dripping away with this small factoid.

Complete BS! Wylie never talked to him. Chuck Smith primary recruiter.

I might be willing to bet that the new S&CC might have a few connections from south florida to make up for this one lost visit. Think?????

Lol. I'm going to call BS. Definitely not the reason Jernigan stopped considering us. Sounds coincidental to me.

My guess is that it was just a convenient excuse for Jernigan to use not to visit. He was never coming here if that's all it took. I call BS.

This was already covered in the Jernigan thread yesterday.

Im calling BS on this one.I dont think any kid goes to a certain school because of a S&C coach. He probably never even heard of Wylie until he left for Tx.If thats the case we will hear his name at Tx this year.

The year TTU tore it up, Wylie's program was talked about quite a bit. You could tell that they were much much more conditioned than the teams they faced.

I MIGHT believe that a recruit would choose a school based on unbelievable facilities...which we are about to have. I have to believe that in the future, our new S&C facility will be a draw...however, I don't buy we lost a recruit over losing our S&C coordinator.

That's why the S&C is the highest paid assistant - is because that is the most critical position. Oh wait. Nevermind

So you had heard of Wylie before he came to Tn ?I had never heard of him before and cant name but a few now that I have heard of. Im just saying I dont think a kid picks a school based on the S&C coach.
