Yes, Muschamp turned us down as UF offered him a million dollars more. Cut turned us down as he was not going to be allowed to pick his own staff. I am not sure why people ignore the fact that Hamilton was NOT offering top SEC money. As I have said, UK is the only coach paid less than UT's in the SEC. VANDY pays their HC more than we do. Expect to lose.

He didn't accept the Florida job until the following year. Whether you like it or not, NO COACH would have us competing for championships at this point BECAUSE of the shape Fulmer left the program in and Kiffin's one year gut.

Just look to when Kiffin left, we went after Muschamp who turned us down, and then David Cutcliffe who also turned us down. We chose Dooley over Calhoun. Dooley & Calhoun were our top 2 finalists.

IF we fire Dooley this year, and at this point it is a 50/50 shot it will happen. Were not getting Gruden or any other Superstar College coach. It just won't happen.

Wouldnt say that. Coach's saw our depth chart and potential for sanctions then. Neither is a problem now. Cut didnt really turn us down. He wasnt going to be allowed to bring those chump coach's on his staff. Very good chance we get a much better quality Coach if the right money is raised. Hart isnt Hamilton he wont make a Dooley type hire, plus were in much better shape on the depth chart and no worries of NCAA sanctions.

How do you know what another coach would do? Would every coach in the country had their team quit in the 2nd half VS UF? Would every coach have lost to UGA late in the game as their QB turned it over 3 times? How do you if the players would not have been better prepared with an actual coach? I think a decent coach pulls out those 2 games and we are going into MSU ranked in the top 10 with a great shot at winning the East. Just because players tend to flop while coached by Dooley, does not mean they would for any coach. Teams rebuild all the time. Teams may have a down year here or there. 3-4 year rebuild jobs are for teams coming off major sanctions. The roster was not ideal, I get that. 70+ players were on it when Dooley got here. Field a competitive team and play ball. Quit trying to make excuses for a man banking 2 million a year when he should be in court trying to get a 2nd time DUI offender their drivers license back.
