What will your lifestyle be like 3 hours before kickoff Thursday you think? I know we play on Saturdays, but I’ve always wanted to know how you get things done within three hours before the game. What will be frustrating to you to get done, settled, and able to watch the game in peace? Running errands, work, or something else?
My frustration will be getting off from work at 4. Never deciding what to eat till the last minute on Thursday, picking up food, getting it home, cooking. I’m have a few more errands to run before I even get home.
Are you going to be rushed? Will it be easy to finish by kickoff? What do you do?

I have very important work on Friday morning, so will likely be preparing up until game time.

Oh ok! I don’t blame ya there. Take that break. So you have to take time out for yourself before kickoff. I was curious how everybody handles all of this stuff within three hours of the game. It’ll be fascinating to read what kind of a headache, rushing, or just sheer frustration by Vol fans before kickoff. This should be fun.

Retired five years now. It’s a breeze for me! However, I payed my dues.👍

Normally would play golf on a Saturday before kickoff, but sadly I’ll be working Thursday until 7PM.

Got some family coming over to watch the game. My mother lives off Broadway so she’s bringing a couple of Harby’s pizzas over. Harby’s is a very underrated Knoxville pizza place.

And Knoxville is a very underrated pizza town. Lots of great pies to be had. I'll add Harby's to my list of places to try.

I have class until 5, so I'll be focused on teaching and not on the game. Once my last class is over I'll come home, start the grill, and get my noise cancelling headphones on. Burgers and Vols, no better Thursday night.

Call the kids. Tell them I love them……but to leave me alone for a few hours. If they have an emergency call their mom.

Take a cold shower. Put on my ragged 98 orange tee shirt. Turn in circles 5 times, grab the horse shoe, the rabbits foot, the 4 leaf clover. Make my spot in the living room, eat home a made sub sandwich and peanuts in the shell (cause that’s what I had all of 98 when I watched from home…..it will work again one day).

Take a deep breath and watch.

here in England the game starts at 1:00am and thus it will finish between 4:00am and 5:00am so its gonna be a long day Thursday and a long day Friday.

12.:30am i will drag my sofa to the computer, I will log in to the Vol Network for the Kesling pre-game show (what the hell is termite protection?)

12:55am I will log in to a website that allows me to watch the game (I wont mention the site online). I will be joined by a bottle of Pepsi and some Twirls and Chocolate biscuits, then wait for the kick off.

CANT WAIT !!

3 hrs before kickoff I’ll be in the process of my nap from a hard day at work so I’ll be rested before kickoff. After I wake up I’ll go and grab some pizza and cokes, then chill in my recliner and watch the beat down with the tv volume sky high until my wife come and ask me do I have to watch the game so loud. Then I respond yep it’s the vols baby. Lol

Used to love Harbys, however we've quit going. The last several pizzas from them have been disappointing.

Im in the same boat. I get off work at 5 and I have to catch my son's 9th grade game that wont end til around 7-7:30. Good news is my house is around the corner from the stadium. I would suggest take out for dinner or cooking tomorrow's dinner today. That will save a little time for your errands assuming they are not time consuming.

Family knows I accept no game day grandkids or non_Vols crazed visitors and mean it.

Thursday - 5:15AM: Prep breakfast. Six Tennessee Pride sausages pan fried. Six eggs whipped in 2TBS buttermilk, finely chopped up mushrooms, finely chopped onion, and chopped asparagus tips. Eight buttermilk biscuits, peppered gravy, ginger and cinnamon flavored home stewed apple heated pipping hot. Coffee prepared in a percolator instead of our usual coffee maker (we grind our coffee beans ourselves).

Thursday - Rest of the day: Watch the news, sit outside on the porch and just chatter. Watch whatever games are playing, if any.

Thursday - 5:00PM: Ginger Ale flavored BBQ chicken breast, succotash, mashed potatoes, gravy, creamed broccoli, accompanied by Leffe Blonde Ale. No desert.

Thursday - 7:00PM. Start watching SECN. Enjoy the game.

I like going to the stadium, but there's no place like home.

3 hours prior to kickoff, I'll be wrapping up a zoom meeting and shutting down my telework laptop with one hand while cracking open a cold beer with the other. Might call my dad and see how things are up on campus since he and his pal are attending the game since I have to work.

No Pilot stations near the house where I live, so my traditional "walking cup" consisting of a 32oz styrofoam vessel, ~16oz of Coke Zero, and a pint of Gentleman Jack will have to wait until the Pittsburgh game. I suppose some Calvados will suffice.

Everyday is Saturday for you

Hope I live that long

I've been retired a couple years now. I like weekdays better than weekends because everything is less crowded. Although, with covid, there are lots more people out throughout the day. That said, I'll be making chili. It will be eaten well before the game, though. Very un-exciting life and that's one reason why Vol football is so important to my wife and me. Go Vols!
