For Those Who are Critical of Our Scheme

My quarrel is not with the concept of the scheme. It just can't be unmalleable and foreign to tinkering. DeBord recognized some weaknesses and adjusted to correct. Bajakian tried to hammer square pegs into round holes. Why he's the FORMER OC. Butch coached under Rodriguez and obviously adapted some of his concepts... But their schemes aren't carbon copies...Butch seems to favor the more physical.

Don't disagree but you do have to factor in level of competition. Bajakian called effective games at CMU and Cincy. Why did he flop in the SEC...yes, he flopped.

I'm not sure why you always disagree with me at the time only to agree with me in every particular a year later. Yes, he flopped.

Hard to really evaluate Bajakian given the hand he was dealt.

I think it is really easy to evaluate Bajakian. You only needed one game, and he gave us well over two dozen. He was the worst situational in-game OC I have ever witnessed. Easily. He made Dave "let Crompton throw 60-times vs UCLA" Clawson look like Cut.

It doesn't matter what kind of hand you're dealt when you're still in the Oklahoma game on the road, Striker lives in your backfield, and you call the triple reverse. He earned my nickname: Bonehead Bajakian.

I wait to "be right"...ups my odds. :peace2: Easy with the "always" and "every" playa. Soon as we have a DECADE of case study, we'll reevaluate the numbers:pilot:

Well, we have since Fulmer was fired. I'm pretty sure there was one thing I got wrong (on the Football Forum if I remember, not the Political Forum) but I can't remember what it was. I think I said not even Dooley could lose to Kentucky. :hi:

I have been onboard with the current scheme ever since Dobbs took over at QB. Running it with Worley is a completely different thing. It did point out that this is the only scheme this coach knows how to run. I am actually looking forward to it this season with a much improved offensive line. The only knock on this team is down field passing accuracy but I don't feel the long pass will be required much this season with these players and this scheme. Butch has recruited up his scheme very well.

What Lefevour did 7 years ago is immaterial to the 2016 Volunteers.

This whole transitive property line of reasoning seldom works as it relates to comparing former teams of the coaches. Different league, different players, different mindset, etc.

Meyers, Saban, Harbaugh, Walsh, Rodriguez said hello.

Given we are on a Vol site talking about a former player for Butch Jones, he may want to be your focus.

Way too many variables going from the MAC to the SEC to try to extrapolate what Lefevour did 7 years ago to today and the kind of season Dobbs may have.

I am proud of you for knowing the names of some really good coaches though.

Let me dumb this down for you sport, the post was not about Lefevour would do in the SEC, it was about the scheme that was being run. You stated that you couldn't translate the scheme due to mindsets, etc. I simply pointed out a bevy of coaches who did exactly that at multiple schools, and had a level of success in doing so.

There have been multiple people critical of our offensive scheme and said the Jones was holding back the QB, I simply stated that that was a fallacy and this scheme is capable of 250/200 a game. BTW you can add Brian Kelley to that mix also.
