... who said they hoped this game wouldn't turn on poor officiating: It's time to show up.

The call against Mapu was beyond ridiculous. His hand was up and the O-lineman who was holding him shoved him right into Leak's head.

The final run by Wynn was marked a full yard forward from what it should have been.

And, there was more holding than any of UF's linemen had at their high school prom- uncalled.

UF played great... but this game was turned on a few critical bad calls. Let's see you show up.

Once again it looks like another game where the fans can blame the refs,it always seems to come that way against Florida.

Either way it is over. I am glad that it was a hard fought game. I have had two Gator Fan friends of mine call and they know that this was a squeeker.

Amorphous, Go take some sleeping pills or something.

The Refs are not to blame beacause we couldnt run the ball. You can't blame them for the pick on the opening drive. And they aren't the reason that kickoff went out of bounds.

We didn't make the plays when we needed to. The Oline play was weak and when attacked it failed the QB and the Defense by not controlling the clock.

I don't think you can blame the refs. I think Florida outplayed us at many positions tonight. It came down to a few plays. I don't think anybody needs to panic. We can still win a lot of games this year, but our O-line has to improve!

Amorphous, check your PMs.
Mods, forgive me if this is too strong, but Amorphous, I will not sit beside you at Neyland as a fan. You need to grow up and lose that playground smack talk. Florida played very well for the most part, and penalties aside, I cannot say we deserved to win MORE than they did. Go Vols!

Well I can sleep tonight knowing that we played a tough game and came up a little short. I wouldn't crow too loud as a UF fan or burn down the house as a UT fan. Just a tough loss and I absolutley love the new repaly rules? We will improve and Meyer is overrated as a coach so we will leave it at that. Good night and GO VOLS!

Both teams played their hearts out.
Oh, I agree with that. But when you have a game played that close, a call like the one against Mapu is often all it takes... that simply wasn't a roughing the passer. Had he been going in unimpeded then yes. Being held and pushed while going in with his hand already raised in an attempt to block the pass, no.

All that is true and that bad call still changed the complexion and direction of the game.

As someone else said, to not even review that last spot was ridiculous. He made a one yard lunge after he was down and they gave him the whole stretch. They made it by less than the length of the football.

Even if so, best case scenario is you'd have gotten the ball back at your 20 with maybe, what, 50 seconds to get to our 30? Fifty yards in 50 seconds with no timeouts. Not likely given the pressure the D was putting on Ainge.

and if the BS block in the back call wasn't made, we would've had a punt return for a TD. and if your punter had been called for his tripping on the other return, we would've gotten at least a field goal.

the no-call on the grounding in the end zone could've been two more points.

so everything evened out. both teams played hard. florida dominated most aspects of the game and deserved to win.

Great post until the 2nd to last sentence about Meyer considering the result of our game the last 2 seasons and his last recruiting class.

That was not grounding. It wasn't a great pass, but it landed within a yard of a receiver. That's all it takes.

I agree that most controversies evened out. However, Florida did not dominate most aspects of the game....

I watched that crackback block on the jumbotron. You can't call that BS. Florida was lucky it was only called a 10 yard clipping and not a 15 yard crackback. Guy in front went high, guy behind hit him low...

Hardesty was right there on the grounding no call... I was on that end of the field and saw it all.

I dunno what you are talking about with "tripping".

He's referring to Colquitt tripping the return man on that one return that almost went all the way...
