Here comes the testosterone mob. go kick your dog again fellas. Maybe tomorrow will make you feel like a man.

Right, when you're either too lazy or unintelligent enough to support your side to a debate, that you voluntarily entered, you just play the victim card.

Geez I knew it was a mistake putting this on here. You do realize Dooley left us with scraps? Let's just fire him and start over again. And in 3 years we can fire that coach and start over again. This is why national media and other schools have so much fun with us! Now I'm getting livid again!

Butch Jones is putting great talent on the field and losing with it. He is blowing leads, making mental errors, and making excuses for his mistakes instead of trying to correct them.

A good coach could easily win 9-10 games with this roster

The Roster will be even better next year so I'd rather not let Butch waste it again. A 1st year head coach that actually knows what he is doing could easily pick up this team and win at a high level next year

Not at UT. At UT the coach would get sanctioned within months and we'd lose 11 teen scholarships and be ineligible for post season play the same year we go undefeated. Which we'd have to vacate and apologize for. That is UT.

Actually, your post is a FAIL. Look at the first 3 years dumbass. Pretty similar to Butch. We could easily end up 7-5 in the regular season. I'm not backing some of Butch's decisions this year, just simply stating that this team has to learn how to win. I'm done here

I did look it up DUMBASS ... why don't YOU !!!

Here's the link to help you see how stupid your reply was !!!

It will be known next year.
No matter how much screaming is done in chat rooms, it would probably take the never before, 4 win season for Butch to be fired this year.
So all the arguing does pass the time but whether "it" should happen in year 3 or 4 for every school, or if it is according to how bad the program is, won't change the likelihood of CBJ getting the chance again next year.

Still reminisce about that 9-4 year Butch had here. Those were the days.

I think it's funny everyone is falling over themselves for whittingham (another mid major coach). You know how long it took him to make UTAH what they are? Like ten years.

Gary Patterson--TCU 2000
Art Briles -- Baylor 2008
Kyle Whittingham -- Utah 2005

These are the coaches people have mentioned.

Had a bit of interesting info shared with me at work the other day. My boss, who is a big Michigan St. fan and grad, has been through this with Dantonio and look at them now, a national powerhouse year after year. He took it upon himself to figure up our average margin of defeat over the Butch era. The numbers are as follows:
2013- 24 pts
2014- 13.5 pts
2015 (so far)- 4 pts

To me that's improvement. It's all about learning how to win. I'll admit I was livid after the florida game but I've calmed down now. Give the man at least one more year and if no improvements next year then I'll help pack his bags. Flame away haters and GBO!

Dantonio made bowl games his first three seasons as well.

Dantonio also knocked off Notre Dame and lost to then #1 Ohio St by a TD his first season. They also beat a ranked Penn St team.

He went to 9-4 his second season.

They slipped up to 6-7 in his 3rd season with a bowl loss. Close losses included #6 Iowa, ND by 3, and Michigan in OT.

Let's see Butch beat some teams that matter. That's all most anyone is asking for.

I remember a time from the mid seventies through the mid eighties sometime when people were wondering if he would ever get them over the hump or if he would be a richt type 9 win a year kind of coach... maybe I'm wrong though. Seems that way in my mind though.

No maybe. You're wrong.

Florida says hi.

And any other school lucky enough to actually have a quality coach.

The fact that you are comparing losses should tell you all you need to know.

Some schools win. Others talk about being close.

Tennessee is the latter.

Oranges meet apples.

Watching the improvement mentioned by the OP extrapolates out that next year our losing margin should improve to 2 pts per game. Then 1 point the year after that, -- losing is still losing

So let me throw this out there... If Butch Jones wins 7 or 8 games next year, in year 4, will that be satisfying to the fanbase? I am just curious, because in reality, 7 wins will be an improvement over the 5 or 6 wins we are on par for this season.

In my opinion, 7 or 8 wins in year 4 is underachieving. Would any of you agree?
