There’s a whole bunch of schools that won national champships in the past. Now they are also rans i.e. ga. Tech, ,minn, s.m.u., Pitt., Syracuse, Miami,etc. we are now at that point. Can it be turned around?

I am 55 years young. I have seen many of the so called power house programs fall and stay down for several years.
Oklahoma,, Notre Dame, Nebraska, USC, Texas, Bama
When Switzer left Oklahoma, they fell until Stoops showed up
Bama fell in the last years of Bryant and stayed down until Jean Stallings
USC fell after McKay left but returned to success when Pete Carroll showed up
Notre Dame fell when Lou Holtz left and it took until 2010 until they played in another National Championship.
We need the right coach, good recruiting, good player development and a little luck and we will be there

Yes it can. All it takes is a good coach, and CJP is it. Tennessee is nowhere near the point of the programs you listed.

What makes you think CJP is the guy? Did you think Butch was the guy? How about Dooley?

UT claims 6. Others say 2 (‘51, ‘98).

All that really matters is that the last one was 1998. Last SECCG appearance came when this recruiting class was 12. Most probably don’t remember Tennessee being all that relevant.

I think most fans appreciate Tennessee’s great history. But it’s just that, history.

I have seen numerous posts that point to only one NC for UT and for that instance you are wrong. I would suggest learning about the school you pull for.

We have a proud tradition and if you are too ignorant to acknowledge this then its on you. For those of you that only see 98 as our Lone Championship grow up and take a ride in our traditions and trust CJP will get us back. Number 2 in the SEC in NC's. Let's get back to our rightful place!

We are already on a position where we can upset teams such as Ky & Auburn. I know it isn't much but those are considered upsets
Next, we need to win enough to get to a bowl game.
Then recruiting will get better and then the player development, good coaching and a little luck will put us back on top

You people kill me. You act like UT is a steppping stone for upstart programs. We need to get back to where we belong and if you cant see this then so be it, but UT is a proud program and we should realize that.
