We are just like Minnesota and Pitt now. Tennessee football is dead. I’m not sure what you see in CJP but more power to you.

You know, You have a lackadaisical attitude about everything UT, You sir are a pimple that needs to be popped and your vile released. How sad it must be to be this misguided and have no faith in UT fottball....... pull for UF or UGA, do us a favor pal! You are pathetic

Programs die when they lose the support of school administrators, let facilities age to some of the worst in the country, and ultimately alienate the fan base. That is what happened in Minnesota. Like I said, Tennessee is nowhere near that point.

We’ve done all three of those things in the last decade.

We haven't forgotten all the SEC and National Championships as well as the history and traditions of our beloved Vols. However, we are currently also rans like other once proud programs that are now in a state of flux. Here are some of them.

1. Nebraska
2. Pittsburgh
3. Minnesota
4. Georgia Tech
5. Army
6. Navy
7. UCLA
8. SMU
9. BYU
10. Colorado

Like us, those programs used to be competitive year end and year out only to have their best days behind them. They also have won Championships in the past and have a history. For us to get back to the team we once we're, we will need stability. We need to give Pruitt the opportunity to get the crud out that still lingers from the Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch years by letting him clean up the program, bring his guys in, and establish a culture of the team of wanting to be competitive and winning. But Coach Pruitt is going to need time to get us back to the proud program that we used to be.

You have to be legally able to drink a bear to be old enough to even be alive during our last championship.

You have to realistically be in your late 20’s to even remember the game or the last time we won the SEC.

Most of our kids only known the hot garbage version of TN.

We are a crap team.

That's not true Jack, and I know you know that. Why are so down today?

The Vandy game really soured me on this staff. Whatever grain of hope I had they successfully squashed. We were not outmatched that day and a decent staff shouldn’t have such a piss poor performance. Other than that things are looking up!

TN may not be there yet, but unless something changes in a major way, it’s not far off. I think anyone can see that.

I understand.

I predicted 6-6 so it wasn't too far off record wise, but I sure thought we'd look better. I predicted we would beat Vandy but was prepared to lose. Wasn't prepared for what we received.

Blah blah blah, it all sucks but unfortunately this is all part of it. This season is done, can't change it. Some really good things are possible in the next few weeks with an OC hire, early recruiting and signing day. Hell, this time next year we may have forgotten all about this other crap.

I know you know all that and really don't feel like hearing it. So enjoy suckville and kiss my ***. :)

You people kill me. You act like UT is a steppping stone for upstart programs. We need to get back to where we belong and if you cant see this then so be it, but UT is a proud program and we should realize that.

Us fans do realize the tradition. But lets not fool ourselves. When teams like Vanderbilit and Missouri have dominating winning streaks against you, you are a stepping stone. We all want to be back so to speak, but we also know how long its gonna take. The big problem is now UGA has a real coach that is absolutely shredding it in recruiting. The best we can hope for in the next 4-7 years is 2nd besg in the East. Winning the SEC? Lol.

I am a Minnesota golden gopher season ticket holder. I went to the Minn-Purdue game this year where the the actual attendance was a hair over 14000. I also went to the Tenn-Fla game this year that was a near max capacity crowd. As a gopher fan, believe me when I say you are a long way off of becoming us. It was pointed out earlier in this thread that bama was in a similar situation as you all. That is absolutely true. Minnesota beat bama in the music city bowl in 2004. Five years later, bama won a national championship. You have the support as a program in all the right places, now it comes down to coaching. CJP will get you all there.

Alabama was one of those until Saban got there.
Alabama has had a string or two of down years however they have never been an also ran. They had a NC a mere 6 years before our last one and only 13 years prior to that had another. So basically 2 NCs in the same time frame since our last one.

Uggh

I have to go take a very long hot shower. I will never forgive you for making me post positive crap about Alabama...

Why would you say something like that? CJP will get us there

And to be brutally honest, I ain't taking the word of Golden Gopher on how to best revive our football program.

I'm just glad there there are several NC's. My spousal unit is a Michigan fan and they have won exactly 1 half of a NC in their history!!
This banner says they have 11.

I’m pretty sure one of Neyland’s Vol championship teams didn’t get 1 point scored on them the entire season. Maybe just one of those Vol legends, but I know there is something extremely outrageous like that he accomplished one year. Of course this was before teams could pass the ball.

And to be brutally honest, I ain't taking the word of Golden Gopher on how to best revive our football program.

I see a head coach attempting to steer a bunch of kids that he did not recruit towards success. The problem is, the kids share Butch’s vision of success, not Jeremy’s.

Whether or not you take this Golden Gopher’s opinion at face value is no concern of mine. I have seen my share of bad coaches and bad football. So much so, that I can recognize a good thing when I see it.
